Easter greetings,

As the Easter season is upon us and spring time is (finally) in the air, we as a people of life can see brightly our call to greatness. We can notice more about this in Bishop William Murphy's Easter Sunday Homily It is important to know that we can have a voice, as disciples of Christ, to share His message of love and mercy. Let us reflect upon these words from a  Matt Maher song, "We fix our eyes upon the cross and run to Him who showed great love". For it is in the cross that we find great love and mercy, and are then able to go out and live our lives solely for Him who made us. Please join us and REGISTER for a Natural Family Planning Informational Overview, "A New Perspective" with RN Fertility Educator and Gianna Center Nurse Jamey Hutchinson. We heard a bit of this message when missionaries from Generation Life came to our Diocese to spread the messages of Pro Life and Chastity. A group of five men and women in their twenties spoke to over 6,000 people across Long Island about how to live our lives for Christ and create a culture of life for the world we live in. The youth of Long Island also shared their opinions with our 2013 Respect Life Youth Awards Celebration held on Thursday March 14th. Students from 7th-12th grades introduced their own expressions on what it means to respect life. This energy and passion for the respect life movement does not need to end here, but rather can expand into everyday interaction in this time of the Easter season. You can be a Pro-Life Media Missionary  incorporating the message of life and Gospel of truth through social media and news outlets every day. Remember that it is with the Risen Lord that we rejoice in the fact that our God, through His Resurrection, is still with us today; and today we can start our mission to evangelize in His name and Belong More Deeply to His church. While reflecting on the message of You Too Go Into the Vineyard we can also read the Gospel of Matthew 28:19, where Jesus says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age". It is essential for us to know that God is good and is with us yesterday, today, and always.

With grateful prayers,

                   NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING

Informational Overview Sponsored by Respect Life and Family Life

  with

 Fertility Educator

JAMEY HUTCHINSON RN,BSN FCP

1.Who should come?

Anyone currently involved in NFP presentations, Marriage Prep Facilitators, and volunteers. Those interested in how NFP works and its benefits. Those interested in spreading NFP information to their parish and local community.

 2. What is NFP?

NFP, Natural Family Planning is based upon a couple's knowledge and understanding of the naturally-occurring phases of fertility and infertility within a woman's system. Only NFP preserves and protects the full truth and beauty of married sexuality as God intended: a union that is full, free, faithful, and fruitful.  With NFP, fertility is observed as a part of health, not disease.  It is a system that is specifically not a natural contraceptive.  These principles make this system distinctly different from contraception, artificial or natural. Couples who practice NFP understand the biology and the theology of their bodies and can successfully promote or postpone pregnancy.

OPPOSE

Emergency Contraception behind the counter   The legislation before you is an attempt to circumvent this federal ruling by providing girls under age 17 with easy access to Plan B.

There is no age requirement in this bill, allowing girls as young as 11 or 12 years old to access these powerful drugs without parental knowledge or physician oversight. This bill would undermine parental rights and potentially put young girls at risk. (More)
