Greetings and Merry Christmas!

As we prepare for the coming of our Savior this Christmas season, we prayerfully remember our many friends that are still suffering from the devastating effects of Hurricane SandyDuring Advent and throughout the year we respond to the pastoral call to Belong More Deeply and Too Go Into The Vineyard . Knowing God has opened the door of faith for each one us, he invites us to step through the threshold into a deeper relationship with him.The upcoming Year of Faith is an opportunity for every Catholic to turn towards Jesus Christ and encounter him in the Sacraments. The National Prayer Vigil for Life  will be held on the eve of the March for Life January 25, 2013. Join and help carry our new message for life. CALL TO PRAY FOR  Life , Marriage, and Religious Liberty
Join the Movement

* What: The U.S. Bishops have approved a pastoral strategy to advance a Movement for Life, Marriage and Religious Liberty. It is essentially a call to prayer, penance and sacrifice for the sake of renewing a culture of life, marriage and religious liberty in our country.
* Why: The well-being of society requires that life, marriage and religious liberty are promoted and protected. Serious threats to each of the goods, however, have raised unprecedented challenges to the Church and to the nation. Read more here

"A Parish Respect Life Committee Report"

St. Martin of Tours in Bethpage is one of  the many parishes that welcomed victims from Hurricane Sandy. The meals offered included stew, rolls, cake, buns, coffee, and water.Clothing and baby items were among the high priority needs for victims of Sandy.  Doors opened at 7am and remained open through the night hours. The parish offered a warm stable environment and met the immediate needs of those seeking community and support. Further, a parish family with small children who lost their home during the storm continue to be cared for by St. Martin's until they can secure a home and plan for their future. "We have been blessed".
