As part of the SHRP 2 Tuesdays Webinar Series, TRB will conduct a webinar on December 17, 2013 from 2:00pm - 3:30pm ET that will explore the project, Integrating Freight Considerations into Collaborative Decision Making for Additions to Highway Capacity (C15)

There is no fee to attend this webinar and other webinars in the SHRP 2 Series; however, participants must register in advance. A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be provided to attendees who register and attend the webinar as an individual. This webinar is pending approval by the American Institute of Certified Planners for 1.5 Certification Maintenance Credits.

 

Efficient freight movement is essential to the economic competitiveness and vitality of communities and regions. Freight operations also have a significant impact on air quality, land use, sustainability, and environmental conditions. Understanding how freight providers will use the transportation system may help practitioners consider reasonable future scenarios, sound investment decisions, and public safety. Effective freight planning requires multi-jurisdictional and multi-agency collaboration across local and state boundaries. The intended audience for this webinar is transportation planners at state DOTs and MPOs.

The first 60 minutes of the webinar is for presentations and the final 30 minutes is reserved for audience questions.

  • To understand how transportation agencies may use the freight planning guide to better meet the needs of freight shippers and receivers so as to improve planning of highway capacity projects.

1.    Login using your ID# and password
2.    Select My CM log
3.    Select Add Credits
4.    Under Browse you have the option of searching by Date, Provider, or Distance Education and using the search box to type in the name of the event or activity and clicking go
5.    A pop-up box will appear. If this is a multi-part event you will have the option to select from a list of activities
6.    Please rate, add a comment (optional), and click on the Ethics statement and answer
7.    Click submit and the CM credits should appear in your CM log
