21st Annual Holiday BID Street Lighting

38th Holiday Tree in Harlem
NYS Office of General Services AND Manhattan Community Board #9 partners with the 125th Street Business Improvement District to illuminate a 35 foot Holiday Tree in Harlem, introduce a new lighting design that will drape the street from Marginal Street to Fifth Avenue and host villages of activities for dance, health, children, spirituality, and in-store promotions.

Activities Include:
Lighting of the Street - The holiday season kicks off in front of the Harlem State Office Building when the 125th Street B.I.D. will simultaneously light the Harlem Holiday Tree and start the BID's Parade of Lights.
Grand Marshall, Sandra Bookman, Anchor at WABC-TV will conduct the countdown & will be joined by Valerie Ferguson, 125th Street BID's Holiday Business Champion & VP of Operations at the Denihan Hospitality Group See Site
The Parade of Lights will include two caravans of lighted vehicles following the contractor as they turn on the street decorations on 125th street from east to west. Participants includes: Greyline Bus Tours, Harlem Tourism Board, Harlem Mothers Save, Jacob's Restaurant, Cove's Restaurant, McRoberts Protective Agency and others.
Holiday Tree in Harlem -The New York State's 38th Annual Harlem Tree Lighting Celebration. There will be performances by Vy Higgins' "Mama Foundation Youth Choir", Chocolat Jarret, R&B recording artist, Traedonya and more. The fun starts at 6pm!
Scavenger Hunt - The BID has partnered with Carver Bank to host the Second Annual "How well do you know 125th Street" Scavenger Hunt. It is a fun-filled holiday activity that's opened to the public including cash prizes of $500, $300 & $200 and others consultation prizes. Sign Up Here
Dance Village - Organized by Larry Scott Blackmon, featuring DJ Red Alert.

Children's Village - The Manhattan Community Board #9 Arts & Cultural Committee will organize this village, featuring local fine artists who will work with young people in arts & crafts, music, education & more!
Place: Harlem Commonwealth Council (360 West 125th Street) -- 6:00PM
Health Village - Organized by the National Black Leadership Commission on Aids.
Held in front of Aloft Hotel, 8th Ave between 124th & 123rd St.
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Spiritual Village - Organized by Mustard Seed Faith Ministries featuring "With Love", the young gospel group from Maryland. Also, featuring the youth from Shiloh Baptist Church, 26th Precinct Explorers & praise dancing - 6:00 PM

125th Street Faces Three Years of Detours Amid Harlem River Drive Repairs
