This property remained vacant over many years.  In August of this year it was announced that Bed Bath and Beyond and We Work signed the first

Last week, construction work progressed from the basement level to ground floor.

It was announced at the BID's June Annual meeting this 

year that Banana Republic would be the tenant on the ground level under Red Lobster.  The store is being built out and last week, a new sign appeared.

 

 

 

City Promises to Restore Historic Harlem Watchtower - Albeit Differently than Planned

Officials doles out $4.2 million last year toward the restoration of Manhattan's lone remaining cast-iron fire watchtower, but preservationists and locals uptown worry that a change in the Park's Department's plans may delay its restoration. The Parks Department says that's not so. Read More

$5.25 million of the TIGER grant will go toward the Park/125 capital project.

Mayor de Blasio and Senator Schumer announced that New York City will receive $25 million in Federal TIGER transportation funds to implement a set of projects advancing the Mayor's Vision Zero Initiative, which seeks to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries in NYC.

Inside the Conversion of an Abandoned East Harlem School

 

After sitting abandoned
for 15 years, P.S. 109 is finally being converted into a residential building by nonprofit Artspace.

East Harlem library slated to close for half a year for upgrades 

 

 

Anguilar Library in East Harlem will temporarily close Nov. 3 to receive new heating and cooling equipment, including air conditioners, hot water pumps and a temperature control system. The branch will reopen in the summer.
