125th Street Business Improvement
District
20th Annual Meeting

June 27, 2013
SAVE THE DATE!!!

Thursday, June 27th
Faison Firehouse
6 Hancock Place, New York, NY 10027

On Thursday, June 27th the 125th Street BID will hold its 20th Annual Meeting at the Faison Firehouse to elect board members, highlight both the 20th year Anniversary of the BID and the 200th milestone of 125th Street being added to the Manhattan Street Grid, and finally, to celebrate another successful year of operations.

The Harlem Community is anxiously awaiting some of the new businesses coming to 125th Street.  Red Lobster is one of them.  This year, we are happy to introduce Chip Wade, Executive Vice President, Operations - Red Lobster, as our keynote speaker.  Mr. Wade will speak about the company's decision to come to 125th Street, what they are doing, opportunities for the community and their expectations.

September 1993, Mayor David N. Dinkins signed the 125th Street Business Improvement District into law.  We will pay special tribute to those
who made this happen.

As we move into the future, one of our goals is to inform and direct our members to engage in the use of technology to further grow the district.  There are endless possibilities of using technology to promote individual businesses and the area in general.

Virtual Connections will showcase some of these new technologies to include talking mannequins, storefront touchscreens, and more.

Finally, as we move into Fiscal Year 2014 -- we will introduce our new brand and a new placemaking promotion - "Connect the Dots" which will highlight some of the promotions that will take place when we we light up 125th Street this year to celebrate the two milestones -- the 20th and 200th.

In order to vote, 125th Street BID property owners, commercial tenants, businesses and residents must be registered.  You can register online by clicking here.

Changes coming to 125th Street

This past month, 125th Street has been covered by some of New York's most notable news sources; the NY Daily News, The New York Times, DNA.info, Amsterdam News and a host of others news formats. With many of the new developments occurring in the district, it was the flyer for the Emergency Town Hall Meeting regarding the M60 Select Bus Service, on May 23rd that caught their attention.

In essence this meeting was held to make sure that the 125th Street community's voice was heard; and with an attendance of over 200 people, it proved to be insightful, informational and also reiterated the love and adoration that people have for this district.

To view the reports regarding the 125th Street M60 Select Bus Service, please see corresponding news articles HERE

The 125th Street BID is the go to source for all of your needs when visiting, working, or living in our district.
