Nancy Rottman, Congregational Care Coordinator

We are pleased to welcome Nancy Rottman back to Hancock Church, serving next year as our Congregational Care Coordinator during her final year of seminary at Andover Newton. Nancy has been a Student Minister the last two years. She will begin her work in September.  Welcome, Nancy!

Paul Shupe will be away from Hancock from July 29-August 8, traveling to Colorado to visit family, and for his annual wilderness trip with his friends from his days at Vanderbilt Divinity School. Nancy Rottman will be working during these days to provide worship leadership and pastoral care.
Flower Donations Needed

The flowers that bloom in the Spring ... the Summer ... the Fall ... and the Winter, on the alter, pulpit or lectern, are placed there to honor and remember the loved ones of the Hancock family. Not only do they add to the glory of the service, but, after church, they are delivered and shared with those especially in need of a visual symbol of our love and caring. To donate flowers for church, please contact Sally Wyman (scwyman@gmail.com or 781-861-1929).  Thank you.

August Refreshments Needed

Everybody likes to get away in the summer...including members of the Parish Life Committee. While we are pleased to tell you we are all set for providing light refreshments after church throughout July, we need help covering Sundays in August.

Expectations are not high for this-it is a relaxed and low-key operation. Some lemonade or fruit punch and light snacks such as cookies, cheese, crackers and fruit will do the trick. We will provide basic instructions for setting things up in the dining room.

If you are willing to help out (or have questions), please email Beth Schutt (beth.schutt@gmail.com). Thanks!

In Memoriam

Remembrances

We extend our sympathy to the friends and families of those who have died recently.

Martha Mabee died this afternoon. A memorial service will be held in August. More details will be announced later.

Check Out the Interfaith Garden
No Experience Needed!

Carla finds an AWOL radish! Or is it a turnip?

Saturdays at the Interfaith Garden are getting busier as more and more fresh produce is picked and delivered to the Lexington Food Pantry.  This is good work being done, growing fresh food to give to those in need in the community. Weekly about 70 - 80 households utilize the Pantry to supplement their food budgets.

Hancock sends volunteers once or twice a month. No experience needed. We work alongside other faith communities, doing what is needed...weeding, planting, harvesting, and delivering. Our next days will be

Sat, 8/15, 8 - 9:30am

Sat, 8/22, 8 - 9:30am

Tue, 9/15, 8 - 4:30 - 6pm

If these dates don't work, there are plenty of other times when the Garden is looking for extra hands. Bring your kids, friends or neighbors. It's more fun! To sign up, or for more info, contact Amy Swanson, amy.swanson.email@gmail.com.
