Why? For fun and fellowship! We want you to get out of your kitchens this summer and have fun eating, playing, and talking as we celebrate the warm, dry summer evenings in Lexington.

How do I sign up to host? Sign up at Coffee Hour, contact the church office, or call Lisa Sandeen (781) 424-7937. We will keep the website updated as more people sign up. CLICK HERE for the website.

We invite you to host a bbq this summer. Host Families will provide a grill, a backyard or deck, paper goods and condiments, as well as beverages (ie, lemonade, water). Attending families bring their own meat, fish, or veggies to grill and a dessert or side dish to share! Lawn chairs or blankets are also recommended. Everyone is encouraged to RSVP the host family when possible.

Pick Up a Copy of Our New Hancock Music CD

We have a assembled a beautiful CD of music from many of the music groups here at Hancock, and it is now available! It includes music from the Choir, Carillon, Choristers, River Rock Band, and A Joyful Noyse. Wonderfully varied with music from classical to jazz and renaissance to contemporary, this is a great listen and a great way to share the wonderful music we have here at Hancock! Copies are free for visitors and sharing. We ask for a $10 donation from members if they would like a personal copy (and we hope you do!) Copies can be found in the narthex.

Summer Plans for Youth and Children

During the summer, Eliza Duncan with adult and youth volunteers will continue offering childcare for infant and toddlers along with activities for children through 3rd grade (older children are welcome as helpers.) Children are welcome and invited to stay in worship with their families and kids pew packs are available in the entry at the front of the sanctuary.

This summer we are seeking adults and families to be Family Hosts on Sunday morning.

CLICK HERE for more information on being a Family Host. Please consider signing up for one Sunday, and help welcome children and families to summer worship at Hancock. Look for the sign-up sheet in the Commons, or email Sarah Felton, sarah@manasas.com; or Sarah Kuli, sarahkuli@comcast.net, Co-Chairs of the Christian Education Committee.

Infant and Toddler Care: Childcare is provided for children ages 3 and younger in the Infant/Toddler Room with Eliza Duncan and teen helpers each Sunday beginning at 9am. Parents may pick up children after worship in the Infant/Toddler Room.

Summer Clean Up - Old Hymals

All old Hymnals will be donated by July 13th. If you would like a Pilgrim Hymnal or Rejoice Hymnal for personal use or crafting, make sure to pick them up before then.

July 18, Interfaith Garden - no experience needed!
Fresh produce makes such a difference to the Lexington Food Pantry. It's an immediate upgrade from canned peas and pears. Giving gardens, like the Interfaith Garden, are having an impact. Thru 6/28, the Garden has delivered 146 pounds to the Pantry and the best of the season is still ahead. Come help when we next work. No experience needed! Hancock will send volunteers on:

Sat, 7/18, 8 - 9:30am

Sat, 8/15, 8  -9:30am

Sat, 8/22, 8 - 9:30am

Interested but those days don't work? No problem - there are plenty of days to help, working along folks from the community. To sign up or get more info, contact Amy Swanson, amy.swanson.email@gmail.com.

July 10, Submit photos for the new Photo Directory

There's Still Time to Be Included!

We received many great photos of Hancock families over the past few weeks, in fact a flurry just this week. Keep them coming! The deadline for submissions for the all-church photo directory is now Friday July 10. Do we have yours yet?

What do I need to do to be included in the directory?

1) Send in your current family information: name(s) including children's names, address, phone, and email address to directory@HancockChurch.org, (781) 862-4220 OR call Jane Park in the church office at (781) 862-4220 to verify your listing.

2) Send us a current family photo that will fit into a square format (we will crop it). Either email it to directory@HancockChurch.org or drop it off in the church office and we will scan and return it to you.

For more information contact Jane Park, Office Administrator, or Julia Potter at Directory@HancockChurch.org. Thanks for your participation!

Becca Lockwood Called to St. Peter's in Carmel, Indiana!

On July 14, Becca was formally called by St. Peter's in Carmel, Indiana to serve as their next settled Associate Minister! By the grace of God, Becca will not be the only former Hancock Seminarian serving at St. Peter's. Current Senior Pastor, Lori Bievenour, is also a former Hancock seminarian. Lori, then using her maiden name Godich, served Hancock a little over ten years ago before graduating from Boston University School of Theology in 2003. Isn't God's Grace amazing? Becca begins at St. Peter's on July 6, 2015. You can send Becca a note of congratulations at lockwoodhrl@gmail.com
