Summer Music Needed!

Instrumentalists and vocalists are still needed for most Sundays this summer. If you would like to provide music for worship service please contact Marilyn Becker at marilyn.becker@hancockchurch.org.

Our Handbell Ringers have returned from the Bell Festival at UMass Amherst! Congratulate them on a great weekend of challenging music!

Summer Plans for Youth and Children

During the summer, Eliza Duncan with adult and youth volunteers will continue offering childcare for infant and toddlers along with activities for children through 3rd grade (older children are welcome as helpers.) This summer we are seeking adults and families to be Family Hosts on Sunday morning.

Please consider signing up for one Sunday, and help welcome children and families to summer worship at Hancock. Look for the sign-up sheet in the Commons, or email Sarah Felton, sarah@manasas.com; or Sarah Kuli, sarahkuli@comcast.net, Co-Chairs of the Christian Education Committee.

Infant and Toddler Care: Childcare is provided for children ages 3 and younger in the Infant/Toddler Room with Eliza Duncan and teen helpers each Sunday beginning at 9am. Parents may pick up children after worship in the Infant/Toddler Room.

A note of goodbye from Pam

Dear Hancock Families and Friends,

It has been a joy and pleasure to serve Hancock as Director and Acting Minister of Faith Formation. We have shared many wonderful experiences and stories together. Thank you for the many letters, cards and drawings, and the beautiful woven wall hanging. Welcoming your children, watching them grow in their faith and practice as they have delighted in exploration has been a joy filled ministry. I have learned much from them and will carry with me their unwavering spirit and smiles.

In September, welcome David Clark as Student Minister of Faith Formation who will work with families and children, along with Andrew Harris who returns as Hancock's Student Minister of Youth. Together they will work with the Christian Education Committee and Youth Advisory Liaisons to facilitate Hancock's Children and Youth Programs.

Yours in Christ,

Pam

Letter from Paul

Dear Hancock Friends,

It is a joy to be back among you after my recent sabbatical! I return rested and ready, full of hope and joy as a new chapter in the life of our church begins. Sabbatical leave is a wonderful thing, and I wish that everyone had opportunity to take one. Mine was filled with a little work as I remained active with the Search Committee until our call to Rev. Barbara Callaghan was accepted...READ MORE HERE

Please know that I am back, ready to help in whatever ways I can. Please feel free to call me, send me a text or an email, to invite me for coffee. I am more than ready to be active once more. Thanks for letting me go, and thanks for making me welcome upon my return!

God's Peace,

Paul

Becca Lockwood Called to St. Peter's in Carmel, Indiana!

On July 14, Becca was formally called by St. Peter's in Carmel, Indiana to serve as their next settled Associate Minister! By the grace of God, Becca will not be the only former Hancock Seminarian serving at St. Peter's. Current Senior Pastor, Lori Bievenour, is also a former Hancock seminarian. Lori, then using her maiden name Godich, served Hancock a little over ten years ago before graduating from Boston University School of Theology in 2003. Isn't God's Grace amazing? Becca begins at St. Peter's on July 6, 2015. You can send Becca a note of congratulations at lockwoodhrl@gmail.com
