CHRISTIAN SERVICE

See Left Side-bar for year-round service.
New Ride Ministry for December
As we prepare for these very full Advent and Christmas seasons, I want you all to know about a new Ride Ministry initiative here at Hancock.

As many of you know, there are members of our congregation who would love to worship with us but can only come when they are driven by friends and members of the church. Can you pick a few Sundays in the coming year to volunteer to drive someone else? If everyone did that, we'd have more than enough drivers for everyone who wanted to come! We're not asking anyone to commit to anything definite, but simply register your potential availability.

You can read more
here or go directly to the sign-up form for December here. If you'd like to register your need for a ride, email care.coordinator@hancockchurch.org.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Advent Devotionals
What does Advent mean to you? We'd love for you to read our daily reflections as we make our way to Christmas! Read our Advent Devotionals HERE!
2015 Annual Giving Envelopes

For those of you who requested them, the booklets of annual giving envelopes for next year are now available for you to pick up in the Narthex. Look for your name on the spreadsheet, find the number associated with your name, and choose the booklet with that number on it. Please initial the spreadsheet so that I know you've picked up your booklet. Don't hesitate to contact me, Kim Gladstone, at 781-862-4220 or at financial.administrator@hancockchurch.org should you have any questions.  Thank you!

Congratulations Alex!

Congratulations our Acting Minister of Congregational Care Alex Will, who was approved for ordination in the United Church of Christ at an Ecclesiastical Council this week! Alex is now free to circulate a profile and seek a settled call as a minister. This is the successful completion of a long process of prayer and preparation. Congratulations, Alex!

A Note from the Treasurer
As we near the end of the year, we reflect on how grateful we are for the donations to Hancock Church this year. We are now weeks from closing the books on 2014, and we hope that everyone is able to complete the fulfillment of their pledges before the end of the month. If you've forgotten what you pledged or would like an up-to-date figure on what you've given so far, please contact Kim Gladstone, our financial administrator, at 781-862-4220 or financial.administrator@hancockchurch.org.

Life's circumstances sometimes change folks' ability to meet the pledge they made a year ago. If you are in this situation, we understand. Conversely, if you find yourself in a position to give a little extra, that would be most appreciated.

Your support is vital to the church and all the good work it does, and we very much appreciate it.

Thank you for Giving to Hancock

Stock Donations and Year-End Logistics: Thank you very much for contributing to Hancock Church via a stock donation. With year-end fast approaching, please note that stock contributions should be transferred into Hancock's Fidelity account by Friday December 19th in order for the trades to settle by year-end. Please keep that deadline in mind as you consider making a stock contribution during the month of December.

Kim Gladstone, Financial Administrator, can be reached at 781-862-4220 or at financial.administrator@hancockchurch.org should you have any questions. Thank you!

Free Stuff!

As we reach the end of our construction project, Hancock Church will gradually need to purge a great deal of furniture! Right now there are extra tables in the Dining Room that we no longer need. They are stainless steel commercial kitchen tables. If you would like them, please take them--first come, first serve! Email Dan dos Santos if you have any questions, dan@hancockchurch.org.

IN MEMORIAM

RemembrancesMarion Hager, a longtime and loyal member of Hancock Church died Tuesday night.  A memorial service giving thanks for her life will be held at Hancock on Saturday, December 20, at 2:00 pm, with a collation to follow.  We hold the Hager family in our prayers, as well as her many friends at Hancock.
