MUSIC FOR CHILDREN

Junior Handbell Choir is Moving to Wednesdays!

The Junior Handbell Choir is moving their rehearsals to Wednesday s starting September 24th. The weekday rehearsal time will give us a more consistent weekly rehearsal day and also make it possible for Marilyn Becker, our Associate Music Director, to lead the group.

Junior Handbells is open to children entering 3rd through 5th grade. No musical experience is necessary. We will learn how to ring handbells and develop music reading skills, all in a fun, supportive environment. Marilyn has years of experience working with children and has a teaching certificate from the State of NJ. She will be assisted by two experienced handbell ringers, Joan Rutila and Lynn McClaine.

Our new time, 5:30-6:30PM on Wednesdays, will also allow us to open the group to children in the community at no charge. If your child has a friend who would like to learn to ring, but has another Sunday commitment, this is a great opportunity.

We are going to fill the spots from Hancock first before we advertise outside of our church, so if you would like to reserve a spot for your child, or if you have questions, please email Marilyn at marilyn.becker@hancockchurch.org.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Celebration Sunday Welcome Message

Alex Shea Will welcomes you to join us September 14 for Celebration Sunday at 10am. Click HERE!
Come Join the Well Leadership Team!

As part of his responsibilities leading The Well this coming year, Alex is looking to put together a leadership team from the congregation. This group will be assisting Alex in planning, evaluating, and promoting The Well.

To accomplish this, The Well Leadership Team will be using Trello - a collaborate, online platform. This will allow for team members to log in whenever they have some time to contribute. Alex is hoping this medium will allow for a wide demographic of people to contribute to the worship life of the church for the life-giving service. All that's needed is a willing spirit and a love of worship! Alex will be providing tutorials for all team members! If you'd like to serve on this team or have any questions, please let Alex know.

Thank you, Becca!

With the excitement at the end of the Spring, you may have missed that our former seminarian Becca has been called away as Youth Minister at First Parish in Gorham, Maine! While this is good news, we bet that many of you never had a chance to say goodbye and thank her for her service. If you'd like to send her a note of congratulations or share your thoughts with her, you can email her at: lockwoodhrl@gmail.com.

Sir Walther Raleigh's Prayer

Two Sundays ago, June Cooper shared a beautiful prayer with us, and now it's conveniently on our website! "Sir Walter Raleigh, the great English naval explorer, has a prayer attributed to him. It speaks deeply to urban and justice ministry..."
