Interfaith Garden Goes Far!

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." So says an African proverb, which best describes Interfaith Garden. Since 2010, the garden has:

  • Provided fresh produce to Lexington Food Pantry and relief programs
  • Educated volunteers and the community on the value of local, sustainable farming
  • Built relationships across Lexington's interfaith communities

Last Saturday, volunteers from Hancock, Church of Our Redeemer and First Baptist prepped half the garden and sowed early-season seeds. Hancock gardeners will join volunteers from Church of Our Redeemer and St. Nicholas on Tuesday, April 15 (4:30 to 6 pm), to pick up where others left off! To volunteer or for questions about the garden, contact Laurel Cooley at cooley.laurel1@gmail.com. Also follow garden news at interfaithgarden.org

This year, as in the past, Harriet Chmela and Faith Fenske will walk the 20 miles on Good Friday, raising money for food cooperatives, day care centers, scholarships, and other needs of the children of poverty. Faith and Harriet will be happy to take pledges of support at coffee hour up to Good Friday. Go here for more details
