IN WORSHIP
Ash Wednesday
Worship at 7pm in Kathie Stuart

Embark with us on the journey of remembrance, as we revisit and retell the stories of Jesus' life and teachings.

We'll also be starting our Lenten Blog next week! But first we'd like to start you off with a beautiful reflection on what Ash Wednesday means to Jan Richardson. Jan uses her art as a part of her ministry and writes a beautiful blog called
the Painted Prayerbook:

"My husband's ashes are in the keeping of my brother. Scott is holding onto them until the day I can bear to gather them up and release them. On that day, we will bury Gary's ashes on the farm..."
Morning Worship | Sundays at 10am
This week in morning worship: During this Lenten season, we will be focusing on the "simple" teachings that Jesus offered while still in Galilee...We being with today's teaching about the hypocrisy of passing judgment on others.... Paul Shupe preaches.

The choir sings a beautiful contemporary arrangement that was created for the King's Singers of the class Shaker hymn Simple Gifts. Isabelle Plaster and Suzanne John will join our organist Marilyn Becker in a trio for our Prelude and Anthem.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome Krystal Neale
Our New Administrative Assistant

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Krystal graduated from Norwood High School in 2003. Never straying too far from her home town, she went on to study Fine Arts at The Art Institute of Boston. While Krystal continues to have a deep love of the art world, her focus has gone from paint to mixed media.

She participates in craft shows year-round, displaying a variety of handmade jewelry as well as more experimental pieces. Her most fun projects to work on are faux paper mache taxidermy, although her home has a surprising amount of real, vintage taxidermy, thanks to her antique collecting boyfriend, whom she shares a home with in Medford.

In 2012 Krystal gained a new family member, a very tiny, very energetic, very stubborn French Bulldog. Rufus, named after one of Krystal's favorite composers, Rufus Wainwright...read the rest on our website!

Please stop by the Church Office and introduce yourself!

We Need to Hear From You!

The Restructuring for Mission team needs your help understanding where our system of committees at Hancock works well and where there's room for improvement.

Whether or not you've ever served on a committee, please take our on-line survey .We need the benefit of your experience and ideas. It only takes 5-10 minutes, and it's anonymous if you wish it to be. We will also have paper versions of the survey available at coffee hour this Sunday. If you have questions, contact Bill McClements at billmcclements@gmail.com.

Thank you!

Building Upate from Dan dos Santos

Hello friends,

The elevator pit has been dug out, rebar has been installed, and the concrete floor is in place. The water main and steam pipes have been moved out of the shaft area to their new locations.

Electricians have been working on the new fire alarm system and running new wiring throughout the building. The kitchen is coming along as it's about 80% done with the drywall installation. The electrical transformer pad has been set outside. We are waiting on Nstar to do the electrical transfer to the new service.

Thank you
