Dear Members and Friends,

The storm is thankfully over, and I hope that you have emerged safe and sound and warm.

It seems wisest and safest to me that we cancel all activities tomorrow, Sunday, February 10.  I choose this course largely in the interest of public safety, and in order to best cooperate with the efforts of the town to clean up after the storm.  According to the police department, the parking ban on all public streets will be in effect through tomorrow.  Though we can accommodate some cars in our lot, many have to park on the street, and this is not legal tomorrow.  Moreover, the sidewalks will likely not be cleared until mid week, according to the town, so that folks would need to be walking on Mass Avenue, which seems unwise and unsafe.

I know that many of you walk to church, as do I, but my feeling is that if we try to have even a small service more will come than we can safely park.

We will be rescheduling the joining of new members and the farewell to Joy Fallon as soon as possible.

If you are aware of anyone who does not receive email from the church, please call them and let them know so that they do not make a fruitless trip.  News of the cancellation is on our website and the WBZ storm closing list.

May God's blessings be upon you as you mark the sabbath at home.  May I suggest that in the hour you would have spent in worship that you engage in a spiritually feeding activity?  Some thoughts:
  • listen to a favorite piece of music
  • pray
  • call a friend or family member
  • write a card of thanks to someone who has helped you
  • call someone who has trouble getting to worship and let them know you are thinking of them
  • (your idea here!)
Grace and Peace,

Paul
