Expectations
I hate it when I don't meet someone's expectations... I'd like to think that most people hate living with the disappointment of others. It's a byproduct of the world we live in. A world in which expectations seemingly swirl all around us, waiting for their ultimate fulfillment or disappointment. Click HERE to read the rest of yesterday's devotional by Alex Will. The pastoral staff have been writing devotionals-- spiritual reflections for the season-- for all of Advent. Check our website for the daily post, or you can read them, share them, and respond to them on our facebook page. |

Join us in the Wilson Room at 9am as we continue our investigation of the parables. We'll explore the cultural context of first century Judea, trace connections between the Old and New Testaments, and examine the rich symbolism of Jesus' most instructive stories. We will provide the resources to start the conversation but we're most interested in hearing your personal interpretations. This discussion-based group is designed for individual adults or families with high school aged children. Childcare is available for younger children. Drop in for a single session, a couple of meetings, or the entire six weeks.

A Note from the Treasurer
As we near the end of the year, we reflect on how grateful we are for the donations to Hancock Church this year. We are now weeks from closing the books on 2012, and we hope that everyone is able to complete the fulfillment of their pledges before the end of the month. If you've forgotten what you pledged or would like an up-to-date figure on what you've given so far, please contact Kim Gladstone, our financial administrator, at 781-862-4220 or financial.administrator@hancockchurch.org.
Life's circumstances sometimes change folks' ability to meet the pledge they made a year ago. If you are in this situation, we understand. Conversely, if you find yourself in a position to give a little extra, that would be most appreciated.
Your support is vital to the church and all the good work it does as so beautifully shown in the narrative budget, and we very much appreciate it.

Drivers Wanted
Congregational Care knows of people who would like to come worship on Sunday mornings, but are unable to get here on their own. If you'd be willing to drive occasionally, you'd make a big difference. Not only will more people get to church; those of us at church will get to see friends we've been missing!
Call the church office or talk with Joy Fallon if you're interested.
