Camping Co-ordinators Needed

The Promotions Committee recently sent an invitation to each UMC and UCC church in  Vermont seeking a representative of each church serve as a camping co-ordinator.  This volunteer would be the person that folks from the local church could go to with questions or concerns about camp as well as get information about camp.  The camping co-ordinator in each local church will be provided with tools and knowledge to fulfill this mission.

Members of the Camp Staff as well as the Promotions Committee would be available to assist the camping co-ordinator in this important mission.  Would you consider accepting this position for your church?  If so, please contact the Promotions Committee Chair, Bill Backhas or
the Executive Director
and they will provide you with the necessary information.

One of the best forms of communication is when local folks talk with local folks.

Sanctuary

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living
Sanctuary for You

It is you, Lord
Who came to save
The heart and soul
of every man.
It is you Lord
Who knows my weakness,
Who gives me strength,
With thine own hand.

Lead Me on Lord
From temptation,
Purify me
From within.
Fill my heart with
Your holy spirit,
Take away
All my sin.

 CAMP OPENING DAY

   Saturday, May 4th

welcome to camp

Camp Opening will begin at 8:30 on May 4th.  All are welcome to come to camp and help to get things ready for the summer.

There will be plenty of work to do.  There are no special skills needed, just hands that are ready to do some work.  We will be sweeping out cabins and buildings, removing snow covering from windows, hanging gutters, and other various cleaning tasks.

If a group from your church would like to join us, let us know so special projects could be planned.  Contact Todd Marlow or Dave MacGowan for details and information.

Running to Help Young People

Michael Jakob

Congratulations Michael!

Michael Jakob, our Counselor Supervisor last summer, completed the London Marathon!
Micheal's target was to raise £2000 for a great charity called Centrepoint.  Here are some comments from Michael and results concerning the race and the events of the day:

"I managed to complete the marathon in 4 hours and 13 minutes, a time I was very pleased with. It was a really amazing day, with the people of London turning up in their thousands showing great solidarity to support all the runners despite the shock of events in Boston that week. Each runner was given a black ribbon to wear to show respect, and there was a 30 seconds silence at the start of the race which was observed perfectly. On top of that, the organizers donated £2 to the One Fund Boston for each runner that finished the race. Overall I have raised over £1500 (approx $2250) and am still welcoming donations for another couple of weeks. I have been told that some American banks won't allow payment on this website but all major credit card companies will.  Thank You!"
