News, Resources and Volunteer Opportunities
Important Parking Announcement from Walton Administration:  We regret to inform you Walton Administration has received news that the paving project at the church lot will NOT be completed in time for the start of school. We have over 50 seniors assigned to park in the church lot, and these students should NOT drive to school on Monday. Please note--we do not have sufficient parking on campus to accommodate these students, and they must make other arrangements for transportation to school.

We are very aware of the difficulties and disappointment this will cause among our students and their families, but despite the construction company's best efforts, completion of the paving was delayed at the last minute. At this point, we are anticipating at least a one week delay, but we hope to have more specific information to share on Monday.

Vocabulary and Class Fee Information:  The front office will not be able to accept the School Sales Forms that were used during Orientation to purchase items from the school and pay class dues. If your child did not purchase their Vocabulary books during orientation, he/she may purchase it during their English class. Books will cost $20. If your child is a Senior taking AP Literature, the price will be $6.00.  Your child may pay their Junior/Senior dues in the Front office. This fee is paid once during your student's junior OR senior year and includes Prom tickets for junior and senior year, Senior Breakfast,  Senior Picnic, Graduation expenses & other class activities. This fee is $80. You may pay for the PSAT test during October (10th grade test fees are paid by the county). Remember, no credit cards are accepted!  Please send cash (correct change, please) or a check for each item. Thank you for your cooperation!

Volunteers needed for the Media Center: The media center is looking for volunteers for WEB days, regular media center duties, and inventory.

For WEB days, you would be involved in checking students in and out of school on WEB days and learn about some of the inner workings of the school. WEB is an excellent opportunity for the students to catch up on their studies and get one-on-one help from their teachers. Walton relies on parent volunteers to make this valuable time possible. To sign up please visit: 2016-2017 WEB Day Volunteers

For regular media center duties, we ask that you plan to work a one to two hour shift, but you may not need to stay that long. You may work any time on your designated day during normal media center hours. To sign up please visit: 2016-2017 WHS Media Center Volunteers

For inventory, we use a computer and a hand held scanner to scan every book on the shelves. To sign up for inventory please visit: 2016 Media Center Inventory

From the Foundation
Does Walton's size sometimes make it feel impersonal or overwhelming?  Would you like for it to feel more personal and smaller?  Do you remember "Room Reps" who sent you specific information about your child's class? Well....the WHS Foundation is here to help! The Foundation is bringing Homeroom Liaisons to Walton, beginning with the 2016-17 school year!

All that is needed is you! We will need a "Parent Liaison" for each homeroom to help bring a more personal touch to your experience at Walton. We want to make our large school feel small! If you are interested in being part of this important effort, or if you would like more information, please contact Robin Perry at
From the Counseling Office
Welcome to Walton to our new counselor, Ms. Natalie Galvin.  She has students L-N, and Ms. Harwood will now have the O-Sl students.
