Walton Families: Orientation is this week. LAST CHANCE to avoid the lines and help us by verifying your information and purchasing your PTSA membership for the 2016-2017 school year on line. Click HERE
to complete this paperless process. We will have your purchase ready for pick up at Orientation. Parents please remember to bring cash or two separate checks to pay for Student Class Fees and PTA membership, calendars, directories, etc. Credit cards are not accepted.
Orientation for 2016-2017:
Orientation for the 2016-17 school year will be held on Wednesday, July 27 for upperclassmen (10-12th grade) and Thursday, July 28 for freshman (9th grade).
This is when you will get your child's schedule, purchase vocabulary books, enroll in Naviance, and join the PTSA. Please see the schedule below for specific times.

Freshman students should come to the Commons where they will meet their Walton Student Ambassadors. The Student Ambassador is an upperclassman assigned to your homeroom class. He/ she will be there to take you to your homeroom location as well as a tour of the school. Your Ambassador will be able to talk with you about school procedures and to answer your questions. You will attend each one of your classes to meet your teachers and find out what you need for the first day of school.
Volunteer Opportunities with the PTSA: The PTSA is looking for committee chairs to join our board. Positions available include Connections enewsletter, Marketing and Publicity, and Reflections. For more information please contact Paty Holdmeyer at waltonpresident@gmail.com.
Newcomer's Orientation:
If you are transferring into Walton this fall as a sophomore, junior or senior, we would like to welcome you! We will have a special Newcomer's Orientation session just for you on Friday, July 31 at 9:30 a.m. Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Watch for an invitation with more details, but please mark your calendar and make plans to join us!

Does Walton's size sometimes make it feel impersonal or overwhelming? Would you like for it to feel more personal and smaller? Do you remember "Room Reps" who sent you specific information about your child's class? Well....the WHS Foundation is here to help! The Foundation is bringing Homeroom Liaisons to Walton, beginning with the 2016-17 school year!
All that is needed is you! We will need a "Parent Liaison" for each homeroom to help bring a more personal touch to your experience at Walton. We want to make our large school feel small! Portrait Sittings: For those students who are unable to make portrait sittings this week, we are currently scheduling appointments for our new Legacy Studio, located at 5180 Roswell Road, South Building, Suite 101 Atlanta, GA 30342. The Studio is located in Suite 104. To schedule an appointment, click HERE or click HERE and
enter "Atlanta Studio" in the search bar, and click on the link that appears below.
The tux and drape pose for yearbook will be included in the yearbook export to the school. There are various dates in July and the first week of August. More days will be added as needed.

Attention Walton Seniors who attended Sope Creek Elementary School: Yearbook Tribute Page -- We will be taking a group photo of Walton Seniors who attended Sope Creek on Sunday, August 7th at 4 p.m. on the Sope Creek playground for a Yearbook Tribute Page. Vote: Election day is this Tuesday July 26th. This is for the runoff for Chairman, Cobb County Board of Commissioners and Post 3 of the State Court.
SPLOST V: Your attendance is very important at the SPLOST V informational meeting on the evening of July 28th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Walton's theater. The Walton community can ensure that the Phase 2 project including building of the fine arts complex and gymnasium(s) is progressing as planned as well as hear about the new Walton projects that will be included in SPLOST V.

Walton Volleyball Program: Tryouts for the middle school teams (rising 6-8 grade) will take place on Saturday, July 30th, at Walton High School (gym), from 8:00 am - 11:00 am.
