Walton families: Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to summer. The PTSA is ready for you to verify your information and purchase your PTSA memberships for the 2016-2017 school year. Please click HERE to start this paperless process. We will have your purchase for you to pick up at orientation at Walton in July.
Summer Reading Assignments: The summer reading assignment list is now on the website. The complete list of English required reading can be found here.
Volunteer Opportunities with the PTSA: The PTSA is looking for committee chairs for the Connections Newsletter, Summer Reading book sale, Orientation and Senior Evening of Inspiration. To find out more about these positions, please contact Paty Holdmeyer at waltonpresident@gmail.com

Does Walton's size sometimes make it feel impersonal or overwhelming? Would you like for it to feel more personal and smaller? Do you remember "Room Reps" who sent you specific information about your child's class? Well....the WHS Foundation is here to help! The Foundation is bringing Homeroom Liaisons to Walton, beginning with the 2016-17 school year!
All that is needed is you! We will need a "Parent Liaison" for each homeroom to help bring a more personal touch to your experience at Walton. We want to make our large school feel small! Senior Parking: The application process for Fall 2016 parking will begin July 1st when a google doc application goes up on the Walton Student Parking page of the website. Students should supply all information on the google doc and follow additional instructions for completion of forms, copies, and payment.
The deadline for the on-line application is July 15th and priority for assigning parking spaces will be given in the order of application completion. All other paperwork, copies of license/insurance, and payment should be brought to Senior Orientation on July 15th and parking decals will be issued at that time. College Admission Series at the Roswell Public Library: The Roswell Public Library is inviting members of local PTSAs to a series of College Admissions Events in June. Representatives from Auburn, Berry College, Emory, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw, and Morehouse will be available to discuss the college application process and answer questions. 9th Grade Summer Reading Workshop - Literature and Composition: In this two-hour optional workshop, students will work on the 9th Grade summer reading assignment with the help of 9th grade Walton teachers. Register for the time that best suits your schedule; however, seats are limited to 120 students per session. Bring the following: your copy of Animal Farm, a printed copy of the summer reading assignment, and a laptop/tablet if you are typing your assignment. Register by clicking HERE, and please be sure to include your student's name in the comment section. We look forward to meeting your rising 9th grader!
