News, Resources and Volunteer Opportunities
ACTION ALERT! Call Gov. Deal's office to ask him to sign Senate Bill 364!  Governor Deal has until May 4th to sign or veto the bill. There has not been any indication of SB 364 being signed by Governor Deal and there have been rumors that he might veto the bill. SB 364 will decrease the emphasis of testing in educators' evaluations. The percentage of student test scores that count toward teacher evaluations will be lowered from 50% to 30% and administrator evaluations from 70% to 40%. SB 364, which passed both houses during this year's Georgia General Legislative Session, is supported by Georgia PTA and other major education associations. SB 364 is a step in the right direction to reform testing and evaluations.

Let your voice be heard. Please call the Governor's office today at 404-656-1776 to ask Governor Deal to sign SB 364!
