Highlights From Education Forum on November 10:  Please watch featured speaker Dr. Dana Rickman from the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education and Mr. John Palmer, teacher liaison to Georgia PTA as they each present information about proposals from the appointed Education Reform Commission. These recordings were made at Walton HS on Tuesday, November 10. Additional information has been shared in Eblasts and the Connections newsletter and can be found on the Walton PTSA website here: PTSA website  Final recommendations from the Commission were heard after the Forum and the Commission's final meeting will be held on December 15.  

Sleighbells on the Square: Join the Walton Staff Enhancement and Student Climate committees in running the Sleighbells on the Square 5k, 1k, and Tot Trot on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. Registration information can be found here. Please designate "Walton High School" and join our team:  Running Raiders.  Wear your Walton or holiday apparel, jingle bells on your shoes, and meet us by the fountain in the center of the Marietta Square so we can run all together! Donations needed for Faculty/Staff Holiday Luncheon: On December 10th, the PTSA will be hosting our annual Holiday Luncheon for the Walton Faculty and Staff.  As always, we appreciate your help in making this a great event by helping with a few donations. If you are able to help, please see the sign up for items needed and instructions for dropping off donations. Donations are needed by Wednesday, December 9th.

Save the Date for Timber Ridge Alumni! Timber Ridge's 25th Birthday and Homecoming Celebration will be held on January 21, 2016 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Look for more details in future eblasts.

Yearbooks:  Don't forget to order the 2015-2016 Walton yearbook.  The price goes up to $100 in January. Order the book at www.waltonyearbook.com.
For Seniors
Walton's commencement exercises will take place on Thursday, May 26th at 2:30 pm at the Kennesaw State University Convocation Center.  Every guest must have a ticket and space is limited.  All graduation information including practice times and ticket requests will be available in mid-March. 

Parking Information: If you were approved to receive a parking space, application processing, payment, and decal pick-up will take place outside the commons during lunch on Tuesday 12/8Thursday 12/10 or Friday 12/11.
For Sophomores
Hearing & Vision Screening for all 10th graders is complete.  There were 3 days of screening in total to allow for absences or retests. Letters are being mailed home to the students who did not pass the screening. Students are screened twice before a failure is given. There will be information included in the letter to schedule a professional Hearing and/or Vision exam. Please complete the bottom portion of the letter and return it to the Clinic. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our school nurse, Sandy Evans. This is a Cobb County School District policy to notify parents of screening failures.
