Operation Clean Sweep: It is time again to invite our amazing Walton students to help keep our school clean and receive some much appreciated and deserved Community Service Hours for their assistance. Our Fall Clean Sweep will be Saturday, October 10th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. inside Walton's main building. Please click here for details. Homecoming Parade Convertibles and Trucks Needed: We still need a few convertibles and trucks for the 2016 Homecoming Parade on OCTOBER 16! If you have convertible or truck and would like to drive it in the upcoming Homecoming Parade, please contact Lynne O'Brien at lobrien@coca-cola.com The parade line-up will begin at 2 p.m. at Temple Kol Emeth, 415 Old Canton Road and end in the Walton parking lot by 3:30 p.m. All drivers must be at least 25 years old.

Fuel for Academic and Athletic Performance: Please join us on Tuesday, October 13th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Walton Theater for an informational session led by Jill Gregory, Board Certified Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer. She will discuss the importance of balancing your blood sugar and empowering yourself throughout the day. Whole Foods will be sponsoring the event with delicious food samples. Parents, students, athletes, teachers and coaches are all welcome.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest: The PTSA sponsored Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program will sponsor a Pumpkin Decorating Contest during WEB on October 28th at 1:00 in the Commons. Students can form groups of 1-4 persons and use their creativity and PTSA supplied pumpkins and supplies to create their pumpkin masterpieces. We will display the pumpkins in the Media Center so that Walton students and teachers can vote on the winning pumpkins. Prizes will be awarded! We will have 20 pumpkins for decorating. If your group would like to participate, please send an email with the names of your group members to waltonpresident@gmail.com. The first 20 groups to email us will be included in the event. We had some fantastic entries last year and cannot wait to see this year's creations!
Walton's Copy Crew: We could use a couple more volunteers to help out each month. The shifts are 2 1/2 hours and are either in the morning or the afternoon. You can sign up for one or multiple shirts per month. If you can help, please contact Cindy Sloan to learn more at 770.595.2242.
Save the Date - Education Forum: The Walton HS PTSA and Foundation encourage you to mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00 pm for an informative Education Forum featuring Dr. Dana Rickman, Policy & Research Director for the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education. There are many topics under discussion related to public education in our state. This is an opportunity to be informed and engaged.
iPhone donations: If you are getting the new iPhone/iPad, please consider donating your old iPhone (5 or higher) to the Walton High School media center. We would like to have a collection of BYOD devices for student check out. All donations are tax deductible. Please contact Dr. Mallanda at catherine.mallanda@cobbk12.org to make a donation.
