Governor's Honors Program: We are beginning the process of nominating students to attend next summer's Governor's Honors Program. This is a four-week college-like program for the most talented students in our state, offered free of charge for students who earn one of the coveted positions! Students may be nominated in the areas of Academics, Careers & Technology, and Fine Arts. Anyone interested can contact Joe League at joseph.league@cobbk12.org or stop by room C-152. We will hold informational meetings for GHP on Tuesday, September 15th, at 7:50 am and 3:30 pm in room C-152. Click GHP for more information.
Spanish tutoring: The Spanish National Honor Society offers extra help to students during the first half of every lunch period (except on WEBs). Locations are: 3rd period - C149 (M. Diaz); 4th period - D143 (Cox); 5th period - C157 (Bitter). No appointments needed, just come when you need help.

PTA Reflections 2015-16: This year's theme is "Let your Imagination Fly." The deadline for WHS student submissions is Thursday, October 8, 2015. For more information, including forms and instructions, visit the Reflections page.

The WHS Foundation is pleased to offer Naviance Informational Sessions for all interested parents during the week of September 14th. WHS adopted the Naviance System this year to assist our students and parents in the college application process.The Counseling Department has been working with students to assist them in setting up their student account and will continue this process until each student account is active. Parents are also encouraged to set up a Parent account to monitor their student's e-Documents and to explore the incredible resources for choosing a college and career available through the Naviance system. The Walton Foundation is so excited to partner with Zeal Kitchen and Bar in an effort to achieve 100% success in the "Say 'YES!' To An iPad In Every Classroom" campaign. From today until November 4th, 5% of all profits at Zeal will be donated directly to the Walton Foundation to purchase iPads for the Walton faculty. We hope you will choose Zeal every opportunity you can over the next 60 days, to enjoy great food and great atmosphere...all in support of Walton and our students. Senior Tributes: Parents, don't forget to honor your student in the yearbook with a senior tribute. To buy a tribute, click here or go to the Walton web site and click on purchase yearbook on the quick links on the left which will take you to the Jostens' web site where you can buy a tribute and purchase a yearbook.

ASVAB The ASVAB will be administered on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 to Juniors and Seniors. The registration deadline is October 5th, 2015. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. Students will register using Naviance Family Connection. To register, go to the Naviance page and Log In; Click on Colleges Tab; Click on All Upcoming College Visits; Locate ASVAB and Click on Sign Up; Click on Sign me Up. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Prosser or Ms. Clary in the counseling office.
PSAT Information and Registration: The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 14th during the school day. The 10th graders are already registered as the State pays for their test. If you have a 9th or 11th grader and have not already paid for them to take the test, please do so ASAP. The cost is $15.00. Please have your child come to the records room and see Mrs. Schrenk.

Ticket prices are: Reserved $10.00, Reserved with Backs $12, General Admission $7.00, Student $5.00 ($7.00 at the gate).
