PROBE College Fair:  The PROBE College Fair, sponsored by Walton High School and Walton PTSA, will be held Tuesday, September 1, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at North Point Mall.  Representatives from over 170 colleges and universities will be present to provide valuable information regarding programs of study, admission requirements, financial aid, scholarships, housing, campus life, etc.  The Fair is open to all high school students from any area high school.  We invite you and your student to head to North Point Mall for a fun, informative evening.  For a list of the colleges represented, visit:

Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program: "Fuel for Academic and Athletic Performance:" Students, please join our Health and Wellness Committee as they present our first Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program: "Fuel for Academic and Athletic Performance" during WEB Wednesday on September 2 from 1:00 - 1:45 pm in the Walton Theater.  This program is designed for students, athletes, teachers and coaches to teach you how to fuel your body so that you can perform better in school and on the field!   Join us if you are interested in doing better in school and on tests, if you find yourself running out of energy during practice or being a bit crabby and starving before you even get home, and if you are interested in being healthier this year so you can reach incentive. For more information, visit: Raiders' Choice Programs

Convertible needed:  If you have a convertible that could be used to transport our teacher of the year in the East Cobber parade on Saturday, September 12th, please contact Brian Cuthrell at bscjmc@bellsouth.net. Thanks!

From the Administration:
Please note the following correction to last week's information: In the year 2015-2016 school year, students will have the option of Testing Out of certain high school courses.  Students who are registered to take Economics this spring may participate in the test out option for that course only this fall.  Please read the letter and registration information here if your child is interested in this option:
Test Out Option Letter.

For the 2015-2016 school year, the SLO implementation requires teachers to use assessments to determine student growth over the course of the year. The results of these assessments ensure that students, teachers, and schools are moving toward a common vision of exemplary instruction and high levels of student academic growth.

Support our construction workers:  As you know, the construction workers have been working 12-hour days in extreme heat to work on our new school and we want to say Thanks!  So, before your student heads out for school, ask them to grab a Gatorade or Powerade out of the pantry for these guys.  They can attach a note of thanks if they want and drop it in the bin near the front office.  Rachel's Challenge Club will be sure to deliver them. Thanks!

Volunteers needed for WEB attendance:
Would you like to get involved at Walton this year? Join the WEB Volunteer committee and get the opportunity to interact with students, staff and parents. You would be involved in checking students out of school on WEB days and learn about some of the inner workings of the school. As a volunteer, you may choose between two convenient afternoon shifts. WEB is typically on Wednesdays and begins at 12:45 to 3:45PM. WEB is an excellent opportunity for the students to catch up on their studies and get one on one help from their teachers. Walton relies on parent volunteers to make this valuable time possible. Please consider joining the WEB Volunteer committee. Thank you!  You can email  Martha Stevens at mangelstevens@gmail.com or sign up at the link below here.

East Cobb CHADD will hold its first meeting on Sept. 8, 6:30 - 8:00 pm, at the Northeast Cobb Community Center. For more information, click here: East Cobb CHADD.
