For PARENTS: News, Resources and Volunteer Opportunities
Friday dismissal procedures: With the expectation of a large number of students checking out on Friday, April 3, for Good Friday services, we would like students to bring notes to their homeroom teacher between Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 2. PPO will process these notes each day and homeroom teachers will give students dismissal (yellow) slips on Friday during homeroom. Please be sure to include in the note the student's first and last name, grade, homeroom teacher and reason for leaving. If the student is absent the entire day, they will follow normal procedures and will not bring in a note until Monday, April 13th.

Spring Testing: With spring comes a wide variety of standardized tests that Walton must administer.

Student Learning Objective Post Tests: Students will be completing the post tests on Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the following courses: Health, World Literature, Advanced Algebra, Physics, World History and Broadcasting, as well as Advanced Band on Monday, April 20, 2015. These tests are used by the state to measure student growth over the semester.

Georgia Milestones End of Course Test: This year, Georgia will be implementing the Georgia Milestones End of Course Test to replace the previous EOCT. These tests have been redesigned to reflect new content and process standards. The Mathematics and English sections of the test are 70 minutes in length. In order to accommodate this amount of time, as well as use of the limited amount of computers at school, we will be following a modified bell schedule from Monday, April 27 until Thursday, May 14. While not every class will meet each day, students will receive equal instruction time over a two day period. For a list of test dates, visit the webpage: Spring Testing

Advanced Placement: The Advanced Placement tests will be given from Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 15, and will follow the schedule designed by the College Board. Click here for a full schedule: AP TestingStudents who are taking a morning exam must arrive by 7:30 a.m. Please note the buses do not arrive in time to begin this exam. Afternoon exams begin at 12:00 pm with students arriving by 11:30 am to be seated. The length of the exams varies from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Students will receive detailed information regarding locations of exams.

For more information on these exams, visit the webpage: Spring Testing.

Class Size Survey Results: The ECCC PTA is pleased to release the results of the Parent and Teacher Surveys about Class Sizes (student/teacher ratio), which were conducted at the end of the 2014 school year.
