The next PTSA Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program will be offered during WEB on Nov. 19 from 1:15-2:15.  Please visit our website at Raiders' Choice for more information. Students can pick and choose the topics that interest them and fit into their WEB schedule and academic commitments. Some sessions will have a limited number of participants.

                    For PARENTS: News, Resources and Volunteer Opportunities         

SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES  During the week of Nov. 17, the PTSA will be sponsoring self-defense clinics in every Health Class at Walton, and a free Senior Girls Self Defense class during WEB on Nov. 19. There will also be a Walton Community Clinic, open to students, teachers, parents and friends in the Walton Community, on Tues. Nov. 18 from 7:30-9:30 pm in the Auxiliary Gym.  This class will be offered for the drastically reduced rate of $39 per person. WHS students who have taken on-line health classes may take this course free of charge during this time. Steven Spivey of Max Defense believes anyone can learn to use the "great equalizers, adrenaline and fear," to successfully defend themselves against a stronger opponent. For more information and to register for the Community Clinic, go to SELF DEFENSE.  To register for the Sr. Girls Class, go to Senior Girls    

 

WHS STUDENT DIRECTORIES:   Pre-purchased copies of the 2014-2015 WHS Student Directory will be delivered to students during homeroom this week!  Thanks to all the PTSA volunteers that made this Directory possible!

 

Happy Holidays to you, our volunteers!  On December 2nd, the PTSA will be hosting our annual Holiday Luncheon for Walton Staff and Faculty.  Our theme is "Candy Land" and the highlight will be a hot chocolate bar with all sorts of candy sides!  As always, we appreciate your help to make this a great event.

Cobb County Community Awareness Committee presents "Teen Pressures Panel" discussion on   Wed., Nov. 19 at 7p.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room, 2nd Floor, at 100 Cherokee St., Marietta. The discussion will be broadcast live on Gov. Access Channel TV23.

Interested in pursuing a career in the medical or veterinary field?  Consider spending 10 days on the beautiful island of Grenada, learning through hands-on activities led by med and vet school professors at the St. George's University's Med/Vet Summer Leadership Academy! There will also be many opportunities to experience the rich culture and natural beauty of Grenada with fellow Walton students and teachers. Junior and Senior Parents: Join us for Financial Aid Night on Monday, 11/17 at 6:30pm in the Theater. A representative from Emory University will present information on state and federal aid, the CSS profile and private funding options for your student's college education.
