The next PTSA Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program will be offered during WEB on Nov. 12 from 1:15-2:15. Please visit our website at Raiders' Choice for more information. Students can pick and choose the topics that interest them and fit into their WEB schedule and academic commitments. Some sessions will have a limited number of participants.

For PARENTS: News, Resources and Volunteer Opportunities

SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES During the week of Nov. 17, the PTSA will be sponsoring self-defense clinics in every Health Class at Walton, and a free Senior Girls Self Defense class during WEB on Nov. 19. There will also be a Walton Community Clinic, open to students, teachers, parents and friends in the Walton Community, on Tues. Nov. 18 from 7:30-9:30 pm in the Auxiliary Gym. This class will be offered for the drastically reduced rate of $39 per person. WHS students who have taken on-line health classes may take this course free of charge during this time. Steven Spivey of Max Defense believes anyone can learn to use the "great equalizers, adrenaline and fear," to successfully defend themselves against a stronger opponent. Drop/Add for Spring Semester : All waiver forms for next semester courses are due by Friday, November 14th.
Students interested in taking an additional course should complete a tuition form and return it along with $300 to Mrs. Rose by November 14, 2014. Those who would like to be considered for flex schedule need to return the flex form by November 14, 2014. Students wanted to take a zero period course for tuition are given preference over flex schedule.
Applerouth Tutoring Services: is offering SAT and ACT prep classes at Walton HS. The classes include 3 Mock exams, 20 hours of instruction and all student materials. For information on class schedules and tuition, click here:SAT/ACT Prep

Interested in pursuing a career in the medical or veterinary field? Consider spending 10 days on the beautiful island of Grenada, learning through hands-on activities led by med and vet school professors at the St. George's University's Med/Vet Summer Leadership Academy! There will also be many opportunities to experience the rich culture and natural beauty of Grenada with fellow Walton students and teachers. Trip dates are 6/23-7/4. Junior and Senior Parents: Join us for Financial Aid Night on Monday, 11/17 at 6:30pm in the Theater. A representative from Emory University will present information on state and federal aid, the CSS profile and private funding options for your student's college education.

The National Art Honor Society of Walton High School has partnered with Atria Senior Living for a Community Art Show on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2:00 pm. There will be pieces in the show created by the Art Students, Atria residents, as Atria staff members. Come out and support our local artists. Light refreshments will be served.

Walton Habitat for Humanity is selling tickets for our Horse Plop Raffle! Top prize is $3,000. 2nd place is $2,000, 3rd place is $1,000. Plus we will have a drawing for 12 VISA Gift cards totaling $900. Chances of winning a prize are 1 in 267. Thanks for Giving 2014: FOOD DRIVE! Walton's Spanish and Interact Clubs are sponsoring a food drive to provide Thanksgiving dinner for needy families in Cobb County through Nov. 18.
