The next PTSA Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program will be offered during WEB on Oct. 29 from 1:15-2:15.  Please visit our website at Raiders' Choice for more information. Students can pick and choose the topics that interest them and fit into their WEB schedule and academic commitments. Some sessions will have a limited number of participants.

YOU'RE INVITED! The WHS PTSA welcomes parents and students to a presentation from the

Davis Direction Foundation on Tuesday evening, Oct. 28, at 7:00pm in the Walton Theater.  The Davis Directional Foundation was founded by a Cobb County family after the death of their son last spring.  The Foundation intends to become a national resource for  Opiate/Heroin Addiction awareness and change. From the Foundation: To thank our teachers and staff for their hard work and all the extra time they give to our students, we are hosting a celebration in their honor at the end of this month.  To show our appreciation, we will be giving them some much needed school supplies! Click here to Volunteer.  

 

Safety Officer and Custodian Appreciation Activities: Thank you for helping WHS show appreciation to Officer Hoppy and our incredible custodial staff.  Officer & Custodian Appreciation week will be held the week of November 3-7, 2014. To show them how much we care: Sign Up to Help!

Healthy Habits:  The cold and flu season is just ahead!  Habits that can stop the spread of germs:

Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer

Avoid close contact with people who are sick, do NOT share beverages/food

Get 6-8 hours of sleep, stay hydrated, eat breakfast - keep snacks and a water bottle in backpack

 

WHS MEDICATION POLICY: Prescription medications must be brought to the clinic by a parent. Over-the counter medicine (OTC), for example: Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Tums & cough drops can be carried by high school students without an authorization form. *The clinic does not keep a supply of OTC medications. The OTC medicine carried by a student must be in the original container. DO NOT bring OTC medicine in a zip lock bag.

Thanks for Giving 2014FOOD DRIVE!  Walton's Spanish and Interact Clubs are sponsoring a food drive to provide Thanksgiving dinner for needy families in Cobb County from 10/27-11/7. A donut breakfast will be awarded to the homeroom contributing the most items!  Click HERE for the list of food items requested and more information.

  

Walton Spanish Club:   Mark your calendars for the first Hispanic Heritage Festival, 11/12 from 5-8pm in the Commons!  
Students, parents and members of the community are welcome to join us for food, entertainment and a celebration of the Hispanic culture!
