The Walton PTSA-sponsored  "Raiders' Choice Enrichment Program" will kick-off its fall session during the Oct. 1 WEB!   Students can pick and choose the topics that interest them and fit into their WEB schedule and academic commitments. Registration is required and most sessions will have a limited number of participants.  For a peek at the Fall Schedule or for more information, go to  Raiders' Choice.

                    For PARENTS: News, Resources and Volunteer Opportunities         

Convertibles and  trucks are needed for the Homecoming Parade on Friday, 10/17.  The lineup will start at approximately 1:45 p.m. and the parade will end at 3:30 p.m.  If you have a convertible or truck you would be willing to drive in the Homecoming parade, please contact Dawn (dawn30067@gmail.com  or 770-714-2155). Drivers must be 21 or older. You will be driving cheerleaders, football players, administrators, homecoming court and other special guests.  It will be a fun event!

 

From the Clinic:  Nurse Evans would like to remind parents that the clinic has two wheelchairs with restricted availability but no crutches. Senior Breakfast Volunteers/Donations Needed:  On 10/15, the PTSA will host a Senior Breakfast! Would you like to help? ASVAB EXAM: Students interested in the U.S.Armed Forces are encouraged to sign up to take the ASVAB Exam. The ASVAB will be administered the morning of Wed., October 15 in the media center. The ASVAB helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military; a score is required prior to enlistment. Please see Ms. Rogers in Counseling for more info and to register.
 

Applerouth Tutoring Services is offering SAT and ACT prep classes at Walton HS over the next several months. The next session begins Saturday, Oct. 4.  For information or registration, go to Test Prep

 
 
Governor's Honors Program Nominations:  We are beginning the process of nominating students to attend next summer's Governor's Honors Program.  This is a four-week college-like program for the most talented students in our state, offered free of charge for students who earn one of the coveted positions! PLC Fundraising for the Wounded Warrior Project:    Meet us at Marlow's for lunch, dinner or take out and help raise funds for our heroes! Join the Principal's Leadership Committee, official Student Ambassadors for the Wounded Warrior Project, anytime on Tuesday, 9/30 at Marlow's Tavern in Merchants Walk!  Marlow's will donate a portion of the proceeds from to Wounded Warriors if you give your server our "Walton PLC supports Wounded Warriors Card." Pick one up at the front office or go to the website and print several to share with your friends and neighbors!  Marlow's WWP Card

 

GRILL DAY: During WEB on Oct. 1; come by the Commons for a freshly grilled Hamburger, Hot Dog or Veggie Burger!  All proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project! Cash or checks made out to WWP.
