Did You Miss Orientation?
|
If you missed Orientation but completed a presale PTSA Membership form, your purchases will be given to your student in homeroom. If you did not pre-order, you may still join PTSA and make a donation to support PTSA programs at Walton, purchase a calendar and pre-order a directory. Copies of the forms are available at the Front Desk or by clicking
Join PTSA. This webpage also links to a flyer of ECCC PTSA Membership Benefits with great discounts and incentives from 24 local merchants! Have your student drop the order form with payment at the front desk and your order will be filled and sent home in a few days.
The WHS Directory is currently being compiled from the PTSA Membership forms and will be delivered to purchasers via your student in a few weeks.
The front office is no longer accepting the School Sales Forms that were used during Orientation to purchase items from the school and to pay class dues.If your child did not purchase their Vocabulary books during orientation, they may purchase it during their English class. Your child may pay their Jr/Sr. Dues in the Front office. You may pay for the PSAT test during October.

WALTON GRADE SITE - Viewing grades online
|
If you have a 9th grade student or a student new to Walton, please complete the BLUE WALTON GRADE SITE form your child brought home this week from school. Do not register again if your child already has an account, the log-in information remains the same each year. Return it to their Homeroom Advisor, include a self-addressed envelope. You will receive a confirmation once the form has been processed. The GRADE SITE will be available for viewing on August 21st after the OPEN HOUSE. Additional forms are available in the Records Room Office.

DRIVING AND PARKING ON THE WALTON CAMPUS
|
Officer Hopkins reminds parents and students to go slow, park in the correct spaces and BE PATIENT! The parking and carpool rules are in place for the safety of everyone!
Parking and Carpool Rules:

The SPEED LIMIT is 15 MPH. (EVEN IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE!)

VISITOR PARKING: ALL SPACES ARE RESERVED FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS. Visitors should only park in Visitor Parking Spaces in the Main Lot (A59-A-68). The Bus Lanes can be used between 8:20-2:30. The Softball Field Parking Lot can also be used until further notice. (Availability will depend on the Construction Schedule.)

BUS LANES: DO NOT ENTER THE BUS LANES BETWEEN 2:30 AND 4:00. At the Beginning of WEB, students can be picked up in the Bus Lanes, but there is NO PARKING. Student Parking Lots behind the school can be used if one needs to park to wait on a student or if you need to come in the building. (This includes students returning for WEB.)

CARPOOL: Carpool DROP OFF and PICK UP IS IN THE MAIN LOT AT THE FRONT DOOR. Please DO NOT use other lots or driveways for this Process. DO NOT drive through and/or use for drop-offs the lower driveway between the Main Lot and the A200 lot....even if the traffic signs and/or orange cones are not in place, DO NOT USE!!! Always follow directions of the Staff Member helping with Carpool!

STUDENT PARKING: No Students are allowed to park anywhere on campus during the School Day unless they have been issued a parking permit or have permission from Mr. Milton or Officer Hopkins. Students receiving a ticket while a Junior will not be eligible for a parking permit during the first semester as a Senior.
OBEY THE RULES! Be Safe and AVOID a Ticket!

REMINDERS FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE

Walton's Clinic Visit Procedure: Parents please go over this procedure with your student so that they know what to do if they need to come to the clinic. *A Pass is REQUIRED to come to the Clinic. Please get a Pass from your teacher before coming to the Clinic. If it is between classes, please go to the next class to check in and get a pass from that teacher. You are welcome to come between classes without a Pass for Band-Aids, contact solution or ice. *You are allowed to carry your own bottle of Tylenol or Motrin (NO ziplock bags!) The Clinic does not supply over-the-counter medicine. Thank you! Nurse Evans

SENIOR PICTURES, TRIBUTE PAGES, & YEARBOOK : All formal, casual and baby pictures will be collected in homerooms during the week of September 8, 2014, to be included in the yearbook. Studio7 is the official school photographer. Please set up an appointment today if you haven't done so already. COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS: The School Counseling Department will present two programs on the College Application Process. Mark your calendars for Aug. 18 (Navigating the Highly Selective Colleges) and Aug. 25 (Senior Parent Night: Application Process).

FRESHMAN "How to Succeed in Math Night": On Monday, August 11 at 6:30pm in the Walton Theater, the Mathematics Department will present information on how to help your child be successful in the Math classroom and an overview of the new curriculum. Many of the 9th grade math teachers will be here for you to meet.
WEB & CLUB FAIR: All freshman must stay for the first W.E.B. on Aug. 13. The Club Fair held in the Commons will allow you to learn more about the 70+ clubs at Walton.
FRESHMAN PICNIC : Get ready for fun and food with your friends at the Freshman Picnic. This PTSA sponsored event will be held during WEB on Aug. 27! Mark your calendar now!

Applerouth Tutoring Services is offering SAT and ACT prep classes at Walton HS. The classes include 3 Mock exams, 20 hours of instruction and all student materials. All Fall classes begin on August 9th!
