Please Take the Parent Survey!!

Parent Survey on Class Size - Share What it Means to Your Student!

The East Cobb County Council of PTAs (ECCC PTA), which is made up of the 35 East Cobb County PTAs -- including the Walton PTSA, has created a SHORT SURVEY ON CLASS SIZES to determine how parents feel about class sizes, and how class sizes impact their child's learning experience. The survey will stay open until the last day of school, which is just three days away.  The survey is anonymous and only the final analysis of data will be shared in the fall.   We hope that the surveys will provide meaningful information, which may be helpful to our decision makers when establishing education policy. The more completed surveys we receive, the better our analysis will be.

PLEASE take a moment and fill out this short survey -- here is the link.

Your input and insight are invaluable.  If you have questions, send them to president@ecccpta.org.  Thank you for your time.

Remediation and Retesting for EOCTs

Walton High School is offering remediation and retesting for students who scored less than a 70% on an End of Course Test.  Students who are eligible may participate in remediation and retesting on one or more End of Course Tests.   If the grade on the retest is higher, the new EOCT score will be averaged into the student's grade.  For the Classes of 2015, 2016, and 2017, the students can meet the subject graduation testing requirements by passing the course in which the EOCT is 20% of the final grade.  If the test grade is not higher than the original, no change will be made in the student's final course grade.  Allowing the students the opportunity to retest is for his/her benefit.

Students may only retest if they participate in remediation on June 23rd - June 24th from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Retests will be scheduled on June 25th - June 26th.  Exact times of retesting will be determined after registration occurs.

If you are interested in your child participating, please contact Karen Lockhart at karen.lockhart@cobbk12.org Deadline for registration is May 28th.

WANTED:  WEB Volunteers for the 2014-15 School Year

Would you like to get involved at Walton next year? Join the WEB Volunteer committee and get the opportunity to interact with students, staff and parents. You would be involved in checking students in and out of school on WEB days and learn about some of the inner workings of the school. As a volunteer, you may choose between two convenient afternoon shifts. WEB is usually scheduled weekly on Wednesdays and begins at 12:45.  The most needed volunteer time slot will be 2:45 to 3:45PM. WEB is an excellent opportunity for the students to catch up on their studies and get one-on-one help from their teachers. Walton relies on parent volunteers to make this valuable time possible. Please consider joining the WEB Volunteer committee. Thank you!
