2013 PSAT Registration Information
The 2013 PSAT will be given at Walton on Wednesday, October 16th.   The State pays the registration fee for all 10th grade students to take the PSAT, but 9th and 11th grade students who want to take the test must pay the $14 fee.

The deadline for 9th and 11th graders to register/pay for the PSAT is Wednesday, October 9th at 3:00pm.  All 9th graders who do not register/pay for the PSAT will be assigned to a silent study hall, and all 11th grade students who do not register/pay for the PSAT will take the ASVAB exam.  Being a WEB day, no instructional time is lost during this testing and all normal attendance/incentive rules will apply (12th graders will be attending their Senior Breakfast).

Prizes have included items needed for college including microwaves, coffee pots, mini fridges, luggage, gas cards and gas certificates. The Walton PTSA is a 501 (c)(3) organization and contributions to the PTSA are tax deductible.

Beginning Tuesday, September 3rd, you may bring in your donated items to the Walton front office, marked "Senior Pancake Breakfast." If you are interested in volunteering on one of the committees, we would love to have your help! Please email calistahans@comcast.net to sign up today!

New Volunteer Center Procedures
Please visit our new webpage that can be accessed through the Walton website.  Click on Students, then Walton Volunteer Center or click on the link below.
Students will be able to access all instructions, as well as submit hours through our new online form.  Students will need to submit all activities, school sponsored or off-campus, through the online form followed by submitting a letter verifying the authentication of his/her hours.  No longer will school organizations be submitting hours for your child.

Student volunteer hours will be able to be reviewed on a quarterly basis.  More details to follow in October.

2013-2014 Reflections Competition
2013-2014 Reflections Competition:  "Believe, Dream, Inspire"

Reflections is a competition sponsored by the National PTA.  This year the theme of the competition is "Believe, Dream, Inspire".  Students can submit entries inspired by the theme in any or all of six categories:  Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts.  In addition, students who are eligible may  compete as Special Artists in any of the categories.  WHS students compete first at the school level, then county, state and nationally.  Last year's competition was very successful; Walton's committee received 105 entries - 25 of those were chosen to compete at the State Level and five were chosen to compete nationally!

We'd like to have the same or greater success this year!  The deadline to submit Reflections entries is Thursday, October 10th.  Competition rules and entry forms are posted to the PTSA web page on the "Reflections" tab
