Saint Clement's Furry Blessing
Although it was a rainy and cold morning, Deacon Tim Sullivan, parishioners, and 20 furry animals celebrated the Feast of St.Francis of Assisi on October 4 in the courtyard garage. The joyful purpose was to acknowledge the important role our pets play in our lives by blessing them along with their owners.
Dogs greatly outnumbered the other pets, which included two cats and one rabbit. A number of pet owners mentioned that St. Francis was their favorite saint, and this was a reason why they came and brought their pet. It was the vision of this saint to see all of creation as holy and connected, and the prayer of St. Francis is a guide to peace.

Lectors Needed at Mass
Training Sessions Coming Soon
Lectors are vital to the liturgical mission of the Saint Clement Community. By proclaiming the scriptures in the assembly, lectors bring to life the living Word of God. Requirements for becoming a lector include:
- Being comfortable reading in front of a large group of people.
- Attending a 2+ hour training session which includes a review of the lector's movements during the liturgy, videotaping and review, practice reading with other new lectors.
- Understanding the responsibility of your ministry by preparing your readings well in advance, by arriving early to review any last minute changes, and by always finding a replacement when you cannot make your scheduled Mass.
- Serving, on average, once per month as a lector.
We invite you to consider deepening your connection with the Sunday mass and gracefully lead others in prayer through participation in this Liturgical Ministry.
If you would like to attend the training session, contact Flo Merkl-Deutsch, Coordinator of Liturgy, at [email protected].
