Young Adults Gather in Full Force for Monthly Wine & Cheese
It's kind of like donuts after Mass for the big kids...except without donuts and OJ, but WITH wine and cheese instead! One of the signature events of the Saint Clement Young Adult Community (for those in their 20s and 30s) is the monthly wine and cheese social, held every second Sunday of the month after the 7:00 p.m. Mass. Each month, 60-80 young adults gather to socialize, catch up on parish news, and welcome new young adults to the parish.
This gathering is a great way for young adults to meet and stay in touch with their peers in the community, helping to foster a sense of belonging and a parish home for a demographic that is largely absent from churches across the nation. Our next wine and cheese social is Sunday, September 14 -- all young adults are welcome!

The Importance of Small Groups in Faith
Do you know why Saint Clement established the Strengths For the Journey program? Ever wonder what made Saint Clement roll out Our Parish Anchors? Saint Clement is committed to growing our parishioners' engagement. Engagement is how you feel about your church (as opposed to involvement, which is what you do for your church). The more engaged you are, the more your spiritual commitment will grow and the more you will get out of your faith.
The three steps to fostering a deeper engagement are: (1) clarifying the expectations of membership (Our Parish Anchors); (2) helping members discover what they do best (Strengths For The Journey); and (3) creating small groups.
If you're not a part of one of the small groups offered at Saint Clement, what are you waiting for? After all, Jesus did most of His ministry in small groups; through His small group of 12 disciples, He left His legacy and changed the world! Small groups offer opportunities for you to form deep and lasting friendships, have your spiritual needs met, learn and grow, be encouraged and cared about, and see growth in others.
Join an Anchoring Our Faith small group this fall to discuss Sunday's Gospel and readings from Pope Francis which relate to the Sunday scriptures. Scripture knowledge is not required, and no matter where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome!
Multiple dates and times are offered and facilitators will be present. Register online or contact Lisa Friedlander with questions.
