Happy Thanksgiving from Saint Clement Parish!
We wish you and your loved ones a blessed holiday. Please join us for Mass at 9:00 a.m. in the church. The monetary collection taken at this Mass will be donated to the CRS Typhoon Haiyan Philippines Emergency Appeal.
We also will be holding our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive at this Mass and invite you to bring non-perishable food donations. The food pantries that we regularly contribute to have all reported that they have more people coming for food than ever, and they cannot keep up with the supply needed for regular distribution, much less for holiday meals. The pantries are especially in need of hearty soups and stews, as well as pasta, rice, canned meats, etc. Usual non-perishable items are also needed, such as canned fruits, vegetables, tuna and juices, as well as hygiene products such as deodorant, soap, toothpaste and diapers. Please think about those people in need of food when doing your grocery shopping, and share generously. The recipients of your generosity will be most thankful!

Thanksgiving Day Meal Prayer
God, who gives us
all good gifts and
who is the source of
every blessing we have,
hear our prayer as we gather to give thanks
for all that you have set before us.
We are grateful
not only for the food
that graces our table in such abundance,
but also for the bond of family and friends,
strengthened by the meal we share,
and by the warmth of your love
that comes to us each day through your benevolent mercy.
Help us to use wisely all the gracious gifts
you have showered upon us
for the benefit of ourselves, our family, and our nation.
On this Thanksgiving Day may we acknowledge
that every good thing comes to us from you,
and may your bounty never cease,
so that we may share your blessings with those in need. Amen.

Advent Begins this Weekend
Advent, which comes from the Latin word for "arrival" or "coming," is a period of preparation, a joyous anticipation for the birth of our Lord. Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas and is the start of the Christmas season, which lasts through the Baptism of Our Lord.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops offers an online Advent calendar with links to daily Scripture readings and suggested family activities, helping you and your loved ones prepare your hearts for Christmas. Please review the events listed below to learn about upcoming opportunities during Advent at Saint Clement Parish.
