How to Get the Most Out of Job Fairs
DEED, Posted on November 12, 2015

Job fairs offer job seekers a great opportunity to connect with employers. They could lead to a job interview, expand your network, or result in a job on-the-spot.

How can you make the most of the experience? How do you persuade an employer to give you a job interview or make a contact that will get you closer to that new job? How do you find job fairs in your area?

First, post your resume on MinnesotaWorks.net before the job fair. Put your resume in a format (such as chronological or skills-based) that best presents your accomplishments, skills, experience and education and is error-free. But which to choose?

Jobs Outlook Rosy for the Class of 2016
By Roy Maurer 1/22/2016

This year's college grads will be entering a job market eager to receive them, especially those with degrees in business, engineering and computer science, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

Employers said they plan to hire 11 percent more college graduates for U.S. jobs this year than in 2015, according to NACE's Job Outlook 2016 survey. This is a slight increase from the results of the 2015 survey, when companies indicated plans to hire 10 percent more college graduates as compared to the previous year.
