Maine Physicians Day at the Legislature
 March 12, 2015
Hall of Flags - 8am-4pm

Every other year, Physicians, Medical students, and Legislators come together at the Maine State Capitol to engage in discussions on important health policy issues including access to affordable, quality healthcare for all Mainers. Whether you've attended Physician's' Day at the Legislature several times or never before, it is important for physicians to visit with legislative members to represent your profession and your patients outside of the clinical setting.

Governor LePage is scheduled to address the group at 11am

We hope you will join your colleagues on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 8-4 p.m.

FP Essentials Call for Authors

The American Academy of Family Physicians is seeking authors for four upcoming issues of FP Essentials.

The four topics are: Nephrology Update, Eye Conditions in Older Adults, Heart Failure Update, and Care of Patients with HIV.

FP Essentials is a continuing medical education publication for practicing primary care physicians with a paid circulation of more than 4,000. Each monthly monograph reviews a clinical topic, with the

monographs following a 3-part, 9-year curriculum cycle corresponding to the examination cycle for the American Board of Family Medicine recertification examination.

Due dates for these manuscripts will vary. In general, authors or author groups are given 6-8 weeks to prepare a polished draft manuscript that is suitable to submit for peer review. Authors receive a $4,000 honorarium for preparing a manuscript and seeing it through to publication. More information on the topics and proposal process is available at HERE

Deadline for receipt of proposals is

March 15, 2015.
