2000 Domaine Vieux Saint Joseph "Vielles Vignes"

Here is something you will not find very often:  an older vintage 100% Syrah from the northern Rhone, and "old vines" vineyards, for a mere $26.  As you might know, wines from this coveted region can be very pricey-- Cote Rotie and Hermitage are untouchable.  And even the "value" St Joseph" AOC has gotten pricey.  Here, you not only find a great price, but you are getting a wine that has evolved very nicely for 15 years!  We sold out of our stash of this last time quickly, and were able to get a bit more. From a 5-generation winery, if you like the "lighter side" of Syrah-- elegance, finesse... we strongly suggest you pick up a bit of this while you can!

Kilchoman Distillery, opened in 2005, was the first new distillery Islay had seen in 124 years. It is the manifestation of a beautiful dream: to create Islay whisky as it was made 200 years ago with a focus on provenance. Small batches, locally-grown barley, floor maltings, everything done by hand - a "new distillery with an old soul".

The distillery's "core expression", it won the prestigious IWSC Gold Award - Best in Class.  Machir Bay is matured in both Bourbon barrels and Sherry casks affording it a beautiful balance of rich tropical fruit, peat smoke, light vanilla and intense sweetness. 

IT IS ONLY RELEASED ONCE PER YEAR.
