CUNE RIOJA (red & white) - $14.99

We think both the 2010 "Crianza" and the 2012 Monopole white represent tremendous values, from this prestigious producer. The red is extremely aromatic, has some more complexity in the form of dried roses and sweet spice notes, with velvety palate. RP90

The Monopole is 100% Viura. Focused with bright, juicy flavors of white peach and Meyer lemon, and herbal and mineral accents. The texture is quite rich, but crisp, citrusy acidity keeps it lively.Wine Spectator "Top 100" 2014, 90pts

2013 ARNOT ROBERTS CHARDONNAYS

Among the best Chardonnays being produced in CA, these hail from Santa Cruz area, and are very limited. We are fortunate to have some allocation, and prices are quite modest for this quality level.

"Watson Ranch" - $45

96 points Galloni (Vinous)

"2013 Chardonnay Watson Ranch is a real gem. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint, crushed rocks and apricot pits are some of the notes that open up in the glass. The flavors are bright, precise and lifted, but it is the wine's superb textural balance that truly elevates it. The 2013 is fabulous, but it needs time in bottle to come together. The only problem is finding the wines, as production is tiny. Still, it is always a thrill when my small allocation shows up. I can only imagine many readers feel the same way"
