Next Saturday is Valentines Day!  Since we (and hopefully you) LOVE wine, wine should be part of it...  See below for a few suggestions we've put together.

 

So, to get you in an amorous mood, we have arranged for some live, romantic harp music in the store this weekend during our tasting.  Bring your loved one, enjoy the ambiance, linger a while.  We will pour pink bubbly and have cookies.

Valentines Day: 4 Ideas (5?)


Lucien Albrecht Cremant d'Alsace Rosé   ($20)

 Our "go-to" pink bubbly for many years... just the right amount of red berry fruit in a versatile wine, that shows a gorgeous colour in the glass.  (We like it served icy in a BIG glass, like this one, forget the flute!)   




2014 Vietti Moscato d'Asti  ($17) 
 
Good Moscato here from a favorite Barolo producer.  Slightly fizzy, delivately sweet.  Peaches, apricots, ginger and rose petals.  Plus it's only 5% alcohol, so you can share the bottle and still be good to go!




2012 Terra Valentine Napa Cabernet
 ($32)

Great value in Napa Cabernet, and a beautiful label, to boot.  Soft, with dark fruits, rich tannins, balanced with chocolate notes.  The label and the wine will both earn you points.   

  





2000 Cockburn's Vintage Port ($80)

There are ports and there are VINTAGE ports...  And then there are 15-year-old vintage ports.  Insanely priced.

"One of the most compelling wines of the vintage, this inky black/purple-colored 2000 exhibits notes of scorched earth, melted asphalt, blackberry liqueur, and a pungent, penetrating intensity that reverberates in the mouth as well as the head. Full-bodied, massive, and concentrated, with a 45-second finish, this thrilling effort should drink well between 2010-2035."
