Dear
Is there any wine more romantic than Champagne? Is there any sparkler more special?
Many of you took advantage of our fantastic Chateauneuf pre-sale selection and pricing. We have decided to try this with an offering of "grower" Champagnes-- small artisanal producers who grow their own grapes, have small productions, and excel at what they do, not the "huge production" stuff you see stacked in most stores. We are offering wines from Bérèche, Larmandier-Bernier, Marie-Courtin, Boulard, and Moutard. We have access to more than listed here, but these are our top recommendations. See below for the list. The wines from these five stellar producers will arrive over the next 2 months, by early November, in time for the holidays. This is your chance to get some harder-to-find wines, even some fun formats, at very competitive pricing. Please email or call in your order. Orders must be in by AUGUST 22. There is no minimum, All wines are subject to availability (large bottles, especially)

City Wine was in 4'th place-- if you haven't, we hope you will vote for us! Voting ends AUGUST 18. Thank you!

Larmandier-Bernier
"The Larmandier-Bernier Champagnes are some of the purest and most utterly engaging wines being made in the region today. I can't recommend them highly enough." The Wine AdvocateLatitude 1er Blanc de Blancs NV

Marie-Courtin
"Proprietress Dominique Morneau embodies all of the qualities of the artisan approach in Champagne. Hers are some of the most adventurous, cutting edge Champagnes readers will come across. Biodynamic farming, the use of natural yeasts, and low or no dosage are some of the elements that inform these wines. Above all else, the Marie-Courtin Champagnes are made with meticulously grown fruit that makes the above possible." The Wine Advocate"Efflorescence" Blanc de Noirs 2009

Raphaël Bérèche "Raphaël Bérèche - One of Champagne's rising stars. Bérèche's wines are full in flavor and finely balanced, always showing a firmness of structure thanks to the avoidance of malolactic. With each successive year they seem to be acquiring more vinosity and complexity, which also allows them to find a balance at a lower dosage." - Peter Liem, Champagneguide.netNV Brut Reserve

Moutard is an excellent source for well-priced wines. The estate is located in the Cote des Bar, home to an increasing number of fascinating wineries. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir and does not undergo malolactic fermentation. The Wine Advocate

Francis Boulard
Francis Boulard's new releases are some of the most compelling, personality-driven wines I tasted this year. Boulard prefers vinification in oak with ambient yeasts and tends toward the low end of the spectrum when it comes to dosage. These handmade, artisan wines are well worth checking out. I loved them".
