2011 PAUL PERNOT BOURGOGNE
Sale: $22
Based in the hallowed village of Puligny-Montrachet, Paul Pernot and his sons issue some of the village's most sought-after bottles, including the grands crus Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. His Bourgogne Chardonnay, fashioned from declassified Puligny-Montrachet vines on the Meursault border, gives a delicious glimpse into the approachability and charm of the 2011 white Burgundy vintage. Pale lemon gold in the glass, the wine opens with aromas of golden delicious apples, white peaches, hazelnuts, meadow flowers and an especially pure Puligny-esque limestone soil impression. The palate alternates between buttery Meursault richness and silvery Puligny precision, while conveying a sense of purity and soil transparency rare for such an affordably priced white Burgundy. Long, sappy and loaded with honest-to-goodness white Burgundy character, the wine finishes sleek, elegant and teeming with the Côte-de-Beaune's inimitable clay-limestone terroir. Enjoy now and over the coming seven years with roast pork, veal, poultry, and earthy potato casseroles. Very limited.
2009 FAIVELEY MERCUREY
From the stellar 2009 vintage (this is the end of it, so act fast), Faiveley's very best values come from this appellation called Mercurey. This vintage was particularly successful and was featured on the cover of Wine Spectator for its value and quality.
2009 THENARD PERNAND-VERGELLESES

Thenard makes some wonderful wines, among the better values of Burgundy, from Pernand-Vergelleses and Givry. His 1er Cru vineyards are some of the best of the region. We also hope to have the 2009 Givry back in stock soon (it sells for under $30)
AND THE KICKER (IF YOU DO NOT COME IN FOR THIS YOU ARE NUTS):
2006 Vosne-Romanée, 1er Cru, "Les Rouges du Deussus", Alain Burguet

Yes, we will open up one of these to taste!
The local distributor for this wine will be in the store, and says, " Les Rouges du Deussus is high on the slope in Vosne, above the Echezeaux grand crus.
