2011 TIKVES RKACITELI (Macedonia) $13.99 Remember the "Vranek" red from this producer? Here's another fantastic value and unusual wine, this time made from "Rkaciteli" (having no clue, we say "rock-a-chelly", because it rocks). A gorgeous wine; layered and delicate notes of white peach, rainier cherry, white pepper, white tea, fennel, cinnamon and linger finish of apricot.
AFFINITY: Trout or Salmon cooked Macedonian style

2010 MANCINI VERDICCHIO CLASSICO, Italy $12.99
Minerals, almonds, herbs, Granny Smith apples and limey acids, yet rich! .... and the coolest, sexiest regional bottle you will see anywhere. EX qpr!

2011 Saint Mitre "Papillon", France $12.99
80% Vermentino and 20% Chardonnay. Fresh, lacy nose. Brilliant limes and juicy brilliant mouth-feel. Fruity with nice acid intensity. Did we say brilliant?
AFFINITY: At Le Central, perfect with Mussels & Fennel Soup

CASTELLER CAVA NV, Spain $13.99
About as good as Cava gets at this price point, and an elegant, classy look to the bottling, as well. This wine is just so versatile around the "hollydays", you should have a few on hand.

2009 ASTRALE e TERRA, Napa Valley $11.99
The aromas highlight bright notes of honeysuckle joined by subtle hints of tropical fruit. This wine fills your mouth with fruit flavors of lemon and pineapple that combine nicely with refreshing acidity. THIS WINE IS $22 ON THEIR SITE.
AFFINITY: Asian Noodle Salad or Grilled figs with goat cheese wrapped with prosciutto

Best Buy Alert!!! Nice Bordeaux, full of soft fruit and nice earthiness. This sold out quickly last time we had it.
AFFINITY: A nice late-fall Stew

2010 JEAN PLA "PASSION", France $12.99
100% Grenache. Old vines. No oak. Very deep colour. Lush with superb juiciness. Sweet black cherries and some minerals.
AFFINITY: We paired this with Lamb with a rich sauce sweetened with chocolate. It worked.

2010 SHANNON RIDGE RED BLEND, Lake County $13.99
This is a great value red blend from the steep mountain sloped of Lake County. . Lots of grapes, lots of layers. Fantastic value.

2010 TENUTA DI ARCENO CHIANTI CLASSICO, Italy $14.99
This is amazingly good Sangiovese for the price, and worth buying by the case (for $12/b, folks, it CANNOT be beat). Not overpowering acidity, great cherry fruit and high quality wood. On wine.com for 19.99.
