"Thanksgiving"
@ CityWine
THANK YOU TO OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS
During these challenging times, "thanks for supporting your local small business wine shop!" There are many places you can buy your wine. We think we're the best, and we want to be your wine store. We will do what it takes-- please let us know so we can be here another 20 years! We will not lose a sale because we do not carry a wine, or due to lack of local price competitiveness. City Wine is literally "stuffed & brimming" with a cornucopia of wine... perhaps the best and broadest selection we've had in years! We have an incredible selection of Burgundy right now (see below) but also our Rhone & Riesling offerings, and the amazing-value Le Central collection. We are here to guide you personally in your selections, please stop in.

2010 a "perfect" vintage in Burgundy?
The Wine Spectator, The Wine Advocate and Burghound
are all extolling the virtues of this singular opportunity from the worlds finest Pinot Noirs. This vintage is highly regarded not by weight or obvious flavors, but rather by it's "transparency" the ability of the wine to show terroir and a sense of place. Elegance, style and a certain ability to awe. Grace Kelly in a bottle, if you will. We have a lovely selection of 2010 Burgundy from village level to 1er cru selected by Steve while traveling thru France in January. One caveat, this was a small vintage, availability is limited if Burgundy in your cellar is of interest don't hesitate. Stop in to get full details! Thank you.

ONE LAST THING
"What to drink with my turkey?"
City Wine recommends:
First of all, that is no way to refer to your partner or loved one. Our stock answer is, "drink what you like!". Personally, for Thanksgiving I like to "pull out the stops" a bit. Splurge, heck it's the holidays and you deserve it! We usually have several wines on table.
Traditional turkey and fixins' call for lots of fruit, and some acidity that helps cut through the myriad of flavors. Off-dry whites from Germany or Alsace (click here to see a great article on German wines, many of which are in our offering) are perfect, and for reds I like Gamay & Pinot, avoiding big tannin high alcohol wines. Some people love the tradition of fruity Beaujolais Nouveau, (we have a unique one), or consider the more serious Cru's from Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin-a-Vent, Brouilly. Sparklers are always great palate cleansers, too. Try a Cremant from Alsace or Bourgogne. And... if you want something REALLY cool and in a low-alcohol mode (7%), we have an apple wine (not sweet) from upstate New York and a steal @ $15.
