It's 100 degrees again, what to do?? Crisp and cold Sauvignon Blancs will help. Numerous styles abound-- the "gooseberry zing" from Marlborough New Zealand, the Cali versions (we like the Walter Hansel), and of course, the "mineral and crisp acidity" from the Loire in France. This week, we are featuring some of our favorites. A couple of these are quite unusual, and maybe a bit obscure or esoteric. All of them are very cool and delicious.

2010 SIMONNET-FEBVRE SAINT-BRIS (BURGUNDY) OK, so now we are in Saint-Bris, the only Burgundy appelation (it is near Chablis) where Sauvignon Blanc is grown. Fresh, intense, grassy with lemon hints, with a very creamy texture. Great Value.  2009 Régis Minet "Old Vines" (Pouilly Fumé, Loire)
