HOW WE LEARNED TO LOVE BEAUJOLAIS! 

 

  Our adventure continues to Chablis where we had a 'hand held' tour of the Grand Cru vineyards by Bernard Raveneau. Then it was on to the Cote d' Or.  Our privileged group tasted hundreds (really!) of Burgundies from 2009 and 2010 allowing us to compare the power and richness of 2009 against the clarity and class of 2010 with such luminaries as Jobard in Meursault and Chevillion in Nuits St. George(more information on Burgundies when they arrive in October).

 

This story focuses on the charming Gamay of Beaujolais, where they have not seen the likes of the vintages of 2009 and 2010 since, well, 1949, see above.

We gathered in Ville'-Morgon with some of Beaujolais greatest producers to compare these two great vintages and we are going to do the same with you here at City Wine.
