2010 Paul D. Grüner Veltliner - REG $15   NOW $11.99

For the third vintage in a row, an impressive value from young winemaker Paul Direder.  A fantastic Grüner that you'll love drinking this Summer-- and, the 1 liter bottle is perfect for parties!  The wine is a golden straw color with delightful aromas of stone fruits and spice.  A surprisingly complex Grüner for the price, showing plenty of spicy stone fruits and apple flavors with a long, dry, mouthwatering finish.

 

DRINK WITH:  Perfect Picnic Wine (chicken salad etc)

 

  

 2011 Tegernseerhof "T26" Grüner Veltliner - REG $18  NOW $13.99

From Federspiel, Wachau. This is the best Grüner at this price point we've found. Simply mouth-watering with vibrant citrus and mineral, and a long finish. T26 is "tank 26".

2008 Anton Bauer Wagram Pinot Noir -  REG $20   NOW $14.99

Austrian Pinot?? Yes! Stunningly good Pinot Noir for the price. This winery has made wine for 4 generations, sustainable, from clay and loess soils where the vines have very deep roots. Elegant, nice terroir with cherry fruit and vanilla spice. .

 

DRINK WITH:  Duck breast with morels in butter, or beef tenderloin with mushrooms (omg) 

 

 

2010 Netzl "Carnuntum Cuvee" - REG $22   NOW 15.99

Mid-weight. Some spicy and herbaceous tones.  Indigenous grapes:   40% Zweigelt, 40% Blaufrankisch, 20% Merlot.  This is like a CRU Beaujolais weight, perfect summer red, but great complexity and cachet.  Black currant fruit.
