The second episode of Macomb County Chamber TV has been released!  This episode is hosted by Schott Cultural Consulting and also sponsored by McLaren Macomb and My Virtual Academy.  It features an interview with Chamber member Kim Schott of Schott Cultural Consulting, footage from the August Member Mixer at Village Green on Lake St. Clair in Harrison Twp, a tour of McLaren Macomb Hospital and commercials from the hospital and My Virtual Academy.

Community Conversations with the 
Center for Michigan
 The Chamber was proud to be a part of another successful Community Conversation with the Center for Michigan. This was a great way to start the important conversation of restoring faith in our Government. Thank you to all of those who attended and to the Center for Michigan for facilitating this important conversation and to Eastside Teen Outreach for hosting this event at their wonderful facility. Hailey from the Center of Michigan is still looking for communities and large businesses that would like to host a Community Conversation. If you are interested, please contact her.




Macomb Foundation to Induct 
Martin Manna into Hall of Fame
Martin is the President of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce and the Chaldean Community Foundation.  He is proud to support many civic and community affairs that he and his Chamber have participated in.  Martin is currently the Director for New Detroit and Advancing Macomb and has completed his Fellowship with Columbia University through the Next Generation Project on U.S. Global Policy and the Future of International Institutions. Martin and his wife Tamara reside in Bloomfield Township with their four wonderful children.

Donate in September and Receive a Free Service
Bender Chiropractic Health & Vitality Center has partnered with the Macomb Warming Center (www.warmingcenter.org) to help provide blankets and pillows to the homeless this winter.  Donate a blanket and pillow during the month of September and receive a chiropractic or nutritional evaluation, including a consultation and report of findings. This is a perfect opportunity to help someone you care about start their journey to wellness and help the homeless as well.  Click here to see the flyer.




Fundraising Event Features Dancing by 
Chamber Members and Other Local Stars
The second annual Stepping Out With the Stars fundraising event will be on Friday, Sept. 9, 6:30 pm-12 am at Zuccaro's Banquets and Catering in Chesterfield Twp.  The event is a fundraiser for Turning Point, Inc., an organization that provides services to end domestic and sexual violence.  Professional dancers from Arthur Murray Dance Centers are teaming up with local business people, including Bender Chiropractic's Dr. Bender, Macomb County Probate Court Judge Carl Marlinga and TV personality Kim Adams, for choreographed dances that will be rated by celebrity judges.  Advance ticket purchases ($85/person, $175/table of 10) are required and available by calling Turning Point at 586-488-7017 or visiting turningpointmacomb.org.  You can also vote for your non-professional dancer of choice with a donation of $10.  Admission includes dinner, dancing, a DJ, entertainment and open premium bar.  There will be a 50/50 raffle and live and silent auctions.  Click here to see the flyer.

On Thursday, September 8, the Martha T. Berry Foundation will be honoring David Flynn, Macomb County Commissioner, for his services to the county. Baker College appoints new Dean of Business
Baker College of Clinton Twp. has appointed a new Dean of Business, Dr. Cleamon Moorer Jr., DBA, of Grand Blanc. Moorer, a native of Detroit, was formerly dean of business of the School of Business at Madonna University in Livonia and has held many positions including professor, lecturer and business executive, just to name a few. He is also an author and educational entrepreneur.




Walsh College hosts Cyber Chameleon Webinar 
Walsh College will be hosting their next webinar, "Cyber Chameleon- The Evolving Nature of Cyberattacks" on Wednesday, September 7. This webinar is the first of a four-part web series that will address all aspects of cybersecurity, from the evolving nature of cybercrimes to what cybersecurity experts are doing to better secure businesses and individuals.
