Renovated Play Park Open

The Chamber was proud to be part of a great event at The Mall at Partridge Creek on Wednesday, August 3. Henry Ford Macomb's updated Children's Play Park is now open at the mall, following a week-long renovation. The play park has been a popular spot for children and parents since the mall opened almost nine years ago. The play park features 10 new structures with a healthy eating theme. "Henry Ford Macomb is proud to sponsor this play park, which is so well-loved by families in our community. It not only encourages active play, it reinforces a positive attitude about healthy foods with our children," said Barbara Rossmann, Henry Ford Macomb president and CEO.

On behalf of FreeStar Financial Credit Union (formerly known as Central Macomb Community Credit Union), the Michigan Credit Union League and Affiliates was honored with a 2016 Diamond Award for their work on the custom production "Vets Returning Home."  The documentary won in the Best Original Production category.  The video, which highlights how the credit union helps the underserved in the community, was created through a grant received from the Michigan Credit Union Foundation, in collaboration with Roseville's non-profit organization Vets Returning Home (VRH).  FreeStar has partnered with VRH to provide financial education classes and support for veterans working to get back on their feet.  The award was presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of over 1,200 credit union marketing and business development professionals. The video may be viewed here. FreeStar was originally established in 1957 at what is now the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
