Sun Shines on Lake St. Clair Appreciation Day

The Macomb County Chamber, along with Macomb County Planning and Economic Development and a number of businesses with interests in Lake St Clair, treated locally-elected officials and dignitaries to a boating event that began at Brownies on the Lake in St. Clair Shores and proceeded down Lake St Clair to Milliken State Park in Detroit. Once in Detroit, guests ate lunch and enjoyed the view, then continued on to the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center for a private tour.  Special thanks to Congresswoman Candice Miller and Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel for speaking about the importance of this natural resource. And thank you to our sponsors McLaren Macomb, Comcast Business and United Shore Professional Baseball League for their support of this event.

Chamber Holds Member Mixer at
THE CoLABorative
The Chamber held a Member Mixer on July 21 at THE CoLABorative in Mount Clemens.  Attendees were treated to refreshments, including appetizers provided by Blackfinn Ameripub in The Mall at Partridge Creek.  There were also tours through the building, which houses several small businesses and has room to rent to several more or to someone who works from home but would like the conveniences of an office atmosphere.  Chamber Member Jimmy Gwizdala owns the building and would love to talk to you about discounted rates he's making available. Go to colaborative.com for more information.

Macomb Foundation to Induct David Girodat
into Hall of Fame
David Girodat, President of Fifth Third Bank, Eastern Michigan, will be inducted into the Macomb Hall of Fame on Thursday, September 22 at Villa Penna in Sterling Heights.   David has had the rare experience of starting as a teller and progressing to President - he started his banking career at The State Bank of Fraser as a senior in high school, later joining First National Bank in Mount Clemens, which was acquired by Old Kent Bank and then Fifth Third Bank.  A Warren native, David's professional and service activities are focused on improving the quality of our communities with a focus on education and healthcare.  He serves on several boards, including those of Walsh College, Henry Ford Health System, Southeast Michigan United Way and Advancing Macomb.  He is married with three daughters and one grandson.

Don't miss the Chamber's premier event.
